I've been considering that myself, but then, there's pretty much a fortnight to go - is it even worth the effort...?

"i don't like it, so i'm saying it's not true"......really? is this where we have come to in our discussions now?

I only say that because they brought them back for the film. Otherwise, I'd be in the same boat as you, where I'd love to see Luke, Han, and Leia in a movie again, but don't have to, and understand if we don't. They never had to be in Episode 7 at all.

But since they are, then there's things that I really think should absolutely happen because it's just common sense (at least to me, anyway).

I appreciate your point of view regardless though.

I am just happy they are in the ST. It could have been a whole new re-imagined SW...

I HATE it, but I'm realistic about it: I fully accept that the man once known as Jason Ward is the father of Star Wars 7 spoilers and the MSW outline is 100% true.

I wouldn't even take it as 100% accurate. How can interpretations be 100% accurate? Some people (not you) in this thread just need to take it as a roughly accurate guide and move on. It's so pointless to continue these threads if every conversation is going to eventual turn into this.

Listen whether people like it or not the basic outline (key word is basic) of what MSW has presented seems to be spot on based on all the official info we have been given. Acting like Luke in ESB and yelling." Nooo! That's not true! It's impossible!" is not going to make it any different. As it has been stated by others, the clips , trailers and BTS video all line up with some of what they have reported. As someone also has pointed out (sorry that I can't name who) the soundtrack titles also line up with it. Besides the outline of the story they have gotten other things correct as well. Back before JW showed his butt and got banned he was on here saying that he was 99.9% sure the sand planet that we now know as Jakku was not Tatooine. This was at a time when everyone was assuming it was. Many here questioned him and called him on it. I was one of them. There was the behind the scenes of teaser 1 with the kid from Kirby Buckets asking if we recognized the sand planet implying it was Tatooine. He also gave us the name for Lor San Tekka for MVS character before the children's book proved it for us when no when else seemed to have a clue. That being said does that mean that MSW is 100% accurate. NO it doesn't. They have speculated a bunch and some of that will be incorrect. A good example is the scene we have seen with Rey, Finn and the Quad Jumper. Their initial thought was that they passed the Falcon for a nicer ship and that something was wrong with it so they went back to the Falcon. They tjennsaid that the material they had said the ship "blows"' they interpreted that as meaning it sucks. We now see it blows up. I deduced this after we saw the stuff from celebration with the explosion and the shot of Rey and Finn running to the Falcon. I sent them an email that naturally went unnoticed.

They have likely interpreted other stuff wrong as well but the basic beats of there story is correct. As others have stated there has been absolutely nothing to contradict there basic outline whether you like the outlie or not. However, if you don't, don't worry to much as the do and will err with there speculation and while the movie will be close to what they have presented, it will likely be much better.

The real question is how are you going to feel when you find out Luke is NOT only in a 2 second cameo and that your hundreds of pessimistic posts were unfounded.

This is the crash landing..... going to be close on that cliff I see.

One thing MSW was right about actually

I have no problem with the Luke cameo theory, I know I'm going to like the movie no matter what.

Much better than I will have ever felt if they were right, to put it very, very mildly.

    And to put it not-so-mildy:

No one will be happier. :D

(and when I say "2 second cameo", I don't literally mean exactly 2 seconds, I mean an insanely short amount of time (so yes, this includes 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, etc. I'm hoping for at least 9,10 minutes. 10-12 minutes would be awesome and wouldn't get a complaint out of me. That's totally livable, and I'll take it. )

Did I say something offensive? I asked him the same question he asked in his post. I have no problem with Emperor Abrams and respect his opinion, I even liked his post before quoting him so I'm not sure what you are getting at Biff.

More speculation that Rey is Luke's daughter:

It somehow makes sense Daisy Ridley would be the daughter of the voice of The Joker:

EDIT - don't you love it when a moderator messes up your post...?
I had a lot of good stuff in here.
Is there any way to restore previous versions?

Because it's the 1st time in 32 years that we'll see them together and probably the last. The first generation fans have been waiting for this for a long time.

    THIS.

If EVII had been made and the writer and director (or a member of the big 3--plus Mayhew) had said, "the story of {insert one of those four} has been told and we feel like it's best to tell a certain story that doesn't include them," then fine. I understand. Luke would be the hardest to lift out of the sequel trilogy, and that's part of the reason I would be super confused and upset to see him get almost no screen time, and never interact with the other two.

And that's doubly true because they made such a big deal about bringing all of the big three back for this one and rewriting the script to give them bigger roles. There was the release of the cast doing a read through.

Then that second teaser trailer (which had 3 of 4 involved).

They brought Hamill to SWC & SDCC.

ThEy showed Leia and Han together in the only full trailer.

Hamill has talked about "working with" Ford and Fisher again. He was on set for weeks. He talked about being on the Falcon set (which doesn't mean he is in a scene on it, but still, it certainly could) which is an odd thing to mention if you have a cameo.

I feel like they have to have one substantial scene with all of them together.

Empire only has one or two, depending how you count them, and this movie should too.

Exactly to all of that, and I really hope you are right.

The thing about the expanded roles is one of the things that bothers me the most with all of this: if Luke is really just in the film for a 2 second cameo where he doesn't even say anything, never does anything, and has no scenes with Han and Leia, and this is the rewritten script with the "expanded" roles for the original trilogy cast, then just how small was Luke's role before? Was he even in the film before? Was he a painting somewhere? A hologram pic in a museum? Did someone write his name in the sand or something? I really don't get it if the cameo is the "expanded" part......what a joke if true.
