Mandalorian S2 Trailer Debut - Screenshots and Speculation

I saw some folks theorize that she could be playing a member of the Acolytes of the Beyond, or a spy of some sort.

Honestly, either would be pretty interesting to have.

 

I don't watch a lot of pro wrasslin these days but I've seen enough of Sasha Banks to hope it's a very small cameo...

 

I'm increasingly in the "Sasha Banks is not Sabine" line, considering that they would be foolish to cast a non-Asian in the current entertainment climate for that kind of thing, and also I agree that someone without acting experience wouldn't make a lot of sense. Sure, Gina Carano has a big role, but we don't expect things from her the same way. Sabine's character has been really fleshed out, and we need someone that can handle that playing her.

 

For me, that wasn't a trailer but a teaser. Where are Bo-Katan, Boba Fett, Moff Gideon and the black saber? It was a tasty morsel nonetheless, I'm still waiting for the real trailer. Hopefully, we'll get a REAL trailer a week or two before October 30.

 

Though I don’t think Sasha Banks will be playing Sabine Wren, I do think that it’s possible. If you look closely, you can see a collar that is reminiscent of Sabine’s.





I believe that she could pass for Sabine... but like I said, I don’t think that is Sasha Banks’s role. I still think Sabine will make an appearance, possibly without even removing her helmet, but I think Sasha Bank will be playing some sort of Force user.

She gives off dark side vibes to me, plus Luke probably wouldn’t be training any Jedi at this point nixing that possibility. I think she’ll be an agent of Moff Gideon: filling some sort of Inquisitor or Mara Jade type role. Maybe Din will see her using similar abilities to The Child and mistake her for a Jedi. Or maybe she’ll be someone entirely different. Who knows? What I do know is that Sasha Banks was the most interesting part of this trailer as that’s what has given us the most to speculate and think about.

Unrelated, but I’m glad to see an urban environment in this trailer:



It gives off Corellia and Lothal vibes, but I think that it’s probably a new planet entirely.



Nevarro looks a lot brighter and more bustling than it did in Season One. I wonder if Greef has ditched the Guild thing and returned to more of a magistrate kinda role. I also wonder if this new life that has been brought to the planet will be undone, since the shots of the Outland TIE Fighters and Scout Troopers appear to be on Nevarro. Maybe they’ll be “striking back” after their seeming defeat the end of Season One?

 

While you're probably right about it being a new planet, part of me hopes that it's maybe the good 'ol "smuggler's moon", Nar Shadaa.

 

Star Wars Explained mentioned that in his video. It’s a definite possibility! In fact, I think that’s it more likely to be Nar Shaadaa than the two planets I mentioned, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

 

There are now rumors that Ezra might make an appearance... I don't think the black-cloaked figure is Sabine. That would be too cool for LFL!!! But I hope it is...

 

Honestly I'd be surprised if Ezra showed up, as I imagine the plot of any sort of proper sequel to Rebels will involve searching for him out in deep space.

As for Sasha's character possibly being Sabine, @The Hero With No Fear's post comparing an image of her and Sabine do show similarities, but Sabine had a different haircut in the Rebels finale. Doesn't mean she can't grow it out. But eh, idk chief.

 

Love the trailer. Already seen it multiple times! Baby Yoda goes for cover as he knows his daddy is about to go badass mode!

Is Sabine supposed to look Asian? I never recognized that.

So what do we think is going on with the X-wings? Are they pals with Mando as they're flying alongside him? It seems like they're chasing the Crest in another scene...

 

I hope for "they are escorting him". But since trouble follows Din around like Pig-Pen's dirt cloud, I think they are more attacky.

 

I wonder if it's common knowledge at this point in time that there's a lightsaber-wielding Jedi among the Heroes of the Rebellion? Could the Mando be looking for the Child's "kind" among the Rebels/early New Republic? (Hence the X-wings?)

 

She is Krownest so she looks like Krownestian.

Which then leads me to speculate: is the snowy planet in the trailer Krownest?

 

They also need to change Yoda’s dialogue in TPM “Always two there are, a master and an apprentice...except when Dave Filoni is making an animated series”

“Always five there are; a master (Palpatine), an apprentice (Dooku), the apprentice’s apprentice (Ventress), the masters old apprentice back from the dead (Maul) and the old apprentice’s apprentice (Savage Opress).”

 

Or what if it's that little girl named Helara Fardi from the Fardi clan living in Thabeska when Ahsoka hid there from the Empire and that one of the Inquisitors was looking for during the events narrated during the "Ahsoka" book? She would be the right age and she wouldn't even been a youngling by the time Order 66 happened.

 

It's sad- Mando's ship could never outrun x-wings...
