Just watched the trailer again. I remember seeing that for the first time last year, and just the anticipation that was building up like I don't think will ever be duplicated in my lifetime for another movie's release!

The entire opening sequence up to BB-8 rolling off saddened at Poe's seeming demise.. Holy ****, I remember being completely blown away by that entire part. Seeing Poe get into the X-Wing before it gets shot etc, Kylo suspending the blaster bolt in mid-air. I hadn't been that amazed by a blockbuster in years, if not ever. The smell of popcorn in the air, seeing it with an audience with a slight draft going up my back.. I felt what must have been very close to what people felt back in 1977, I knew right then and there.. that no cinema viewing experience would probably ever rival this one in my lifetime.

I was checking spoiler news daily for months up until release, yet JJ's direction still managed to surpass what I expected.

..and Han on the Falcon "Twelve!" those were the other scenes that really gave me goosebumps. Those nostalgic moments including the chess board (whatever it's called) Han and Leia's dialogue scenes (though short) made it feel officially like Star Wars, and surprisingly I found Leia to be the most convincing character. When Leia came back with Threepio and R2, it was officially Star Wars again.

The Force Awakens is a great movie. Kylo is a great character and I fully bought him as Han's son, the film tied into the originals in a way which felt right.. though different from what I expected - which I guess is perfect. I hold on to the memory of that first viewing and it helps me enjoy the film again and again.

Luke's introduction to the story was also mindblowing, Rey walking up the steps gave me chills.. and the music - as Mark Hamill said (everything has changed but nothing's changed) solid first episode for the trilogy.. I expect episode 8 to fill in the blanks that fans wanted.

I got the chills (and not in a good way) when I realized that "The Force Awakens" seemed like a near replica of "A New Hope".

    Mine would be:

    1. Opening sequence- Lucasfilm logo through crawl
    2. Kylo's first scene
    3. Seeing the Falcon back in action
    4. Seeing Han and Chewie again
    5. Seeing Han walkout out onto the walkway with Kylo, and realizing he legitimately might not make it.
    6. Rey kicking Kylo's butt.
    7. Luke.

    Bonus moment I forgot-
Hux's freaky Nazi speech. Obviously I don't at all relate to wanting to destroy planets for the First Order, but man, that guy had some passion in that scene.

In terms of "non-nostalgia" moments, I would say Rey's force vision because it gave me the first idea of where they are taking this character and why she's so important. She's clearly connected to one of the main families of Star Wars and the fact they were gonna make you work for it is nice.

Kylo's force catching a blaster shot, that was impressive.
