    Sorry if the title is spoilery in any way!

    This is a theory I've used in a different Speculative post I made a while back, but I wanted to throw it out to y'all and see what you all think. So! Should Max Von Sydow's character be Kanan? Would that even work? Thanks and let me know!

    It would be interesting to see. I would like if they did put a few characters from Rebels onto the big screen but the likelihood of JJ and friends doing that would be slim.

    It would be interesting for sure, but I just worry about Rebels then. I feel like if he is Kanan then it might severely hamper where they're able to go with the show.

    Presumably the story group would have accounted for that, but...

    It is confirmed or rumoured that Von Sydow's character will be named Lor San Tekka. However, this name could be another pseudonym (i.e., Kanan's name is actually Caleb Dume).

    Regardlessly, I hope that Von Sydow will not be Kanan. In Rebels, we have seen that Yoda knows about Kanan's existence. Yoda confirms in ROTJ that "the other one" (to which Obi-Wan refers) is indeed Leia, suggesting that Kanan has disappeared.

    One could argue that Kanan has not died but that he could have gone into hiding during the OT (like he did between ROTS and Rebels). However, in Rebels, Kanan feels that he has abandoned his Master Depa Billaba by going into hiding. He is ridden with guilt. Joining the Rebellion and fighting the Empire is a sort of atonement for him. If he would go into hiding again, then he would fail his Master again.

    Filoni has addressed this before in talking if any of the shows characters will make it out alive. "We know how this going to have to end. It's just a question of how we get there."

    I seriously doubt kanan is even making it out of rebels alive let alone turning up in VII. I personally think maybe 1 or 2 non force users will survive the end of rebels.

    Plus with what we know about MVS character he really isn't integral to the whole story of VII. He's basically the conduit that brings the resistance and first order to jakku and sends the story going. Once his usefulness is over they kill him off.

    Well...I'm happy for the responses! And thus my watch begins...all jokes aside thanks for taking the poll!

    Where has this been confirmed? I don't see it on the Star Wars site or on IMDB, and I haven't heard any breaking news on the character, so...

    That's a non-answer. He isn't saying that they'll all die or all live, he's just saying he knows where the character's roles will end in Rebels.

    @Pastor Barndog Unless Ezra pulls an Obi-Wan and starts look decades older than he is, he doesn't fit the age/look requirements IMO.

    When I wrote the first post, I did not have time to check whether the rumour had been confirmed. It has not been confirmed, so I agree that we need to take the information with a grain of salt. However, of the many websites claiming to leak information, MSW has been one of the more reliable ones.

    Hahaha probably right, but look at Obi-Wan; he was killed pretty easily and was instrumental in Luke's training and knowledge of the Force. Or I guess Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru would be more accurate. But their deaths are what spurred Luke forward, freeing him from his "chains" in a way of speaking.

    Also, look at Sarco Plank - we know more about his past than most of the new characters and we have no idea who his actor is (I don't think it's MVS due to height differences, but someone else is gonna have to fact check me on this one) or how big a role he's actually going to play.

    The size of the role in the movie - at this point in time (this could all change very soon or not at all) - shouldn't indicate with the size of the role in the plot. One could argue that because we haven't seen anything of MVS or who he's playing outside of rumors it's because the role is too important (be it Kanan or the MSW rumored character).

    I completely agree with the first part, about him fighting the Empire as a penance of sorts. But we also have to remember that he didn't want to fight with the Rebellion on a large scale. I agree that he will fight with the Rebellion and use that as atonement and a way to finally come to terms with his past, but what about afterwards? Or as another train of thought, what if his hiding this time he wasn't thinking about failing his master, but failing his student? Just food for thought. Either way, I'm' curious as to what his role is now! :)

    It would be nice to see one of the character make it out, but I think that Yoda's comments lead us to conclude that there is a 90% chance that both Kanan and Ezra at the very least will not make it out of the series alive. It is possible that one of them disappears and perhaps joins the knights of Ren, but that would be Ezra not Kanan IMO. Kanan is a Jedi through and through.

    If I had to speculate does Rebels end where the first anthology starts?

    I voted "other". Here's my explanation.

    Kanan will have the same screen time as Darth Plagueis in The Force Awakens: NONE. NOT ONE SECOND. WE WON'T SEE HIM. MVS IS NOT KANAN JARRUS!!!! Neither is he Ezra. AND NO FINN ISN'T LANDO SON! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
