Now I think about, I can't recall a known Force user taking part in any of the First Order's Starkiller destruction in TFA. Finn drops shields, Chewie/Han set charges, Poe and crew torpedo the weak spot. Maybe TFA was for all those non-force sensitives out there...

Except for Kylo Ren although he was sort of more indirectly invlved since he had his own agendas .

The Force users seemed busy focussing on Luke Mcguffin while the ordinary folk did the real work and took down the Super Weapon - at great cost. Poe managed to have a hand in it all.

That's how I've been feeling but that's why unlocked The PT so much because they actually did so much to a story that already had an ending without the need for anything ridiculous with the exception of the pre-death star Cato-Nemoidian starships and such .

I don't know about that. TPM had too much going on during the climax. Plus, doing 1-2 each time makes it easier to spread them out in various combinations across multiple films. I wonder what a sea-to-space battle would look like... =P

Knights Of Ren mind kind of a weapon. If they are strong in the force, together they could do bad things like changing someone mind (rey killing finn for example) to set them up for a dark side or something

My apologies - I somehow missed your post then suggested a similar idea on the same page! You're right @bluemilk7, great idea. (An ancient fear too...)

An important point to make here too should be that the "Star Killer" system was meant to also be a metafor for Ben slowly going from "light to dark" as the weapon drew the energy out of the sun which created the "darkness".

It was a dramatic & well crafted way to display Ben Solo's arc or conversion into Kylo Ren.
I think Kasdan(who did the SP for The Empire Strikes Back) was a big part of that scene.

In case of TFA-political situation a "modern" sizeable fleet with a flagship that would take over a system modertly fast would have been a great "Superwepon" or Threat indeed. I mean...Who would have expected the First Order Fleet to be powerful and huge.

The Deathstar of this Movie could have been a Bismarck or an Executor-Class like Ship as an Command-Ship maybe with an Superlaser but weaker...

It just feels sad that TFA couldnĀ“t have something more sane but also insane and unexpected for us all movie goers or Fans. I even would have been okay with Starkiller Base being just blown only in half and vanish to hyperspace or so.

this is so absolutely true! and yet there are people arguing that the movie is all about the FSs and they're the only ones who are cool or matter. other than Rey rescuing BB-8 (which required no FS at all) the FSs practically didn't do squat for either of their causes. and when you think about it, you could argue that Ren single-handedly wrecked Starkiller's defenses by going off-plan.

this is my vote. if they they really want to do something different, move on from the one big gun and focus on some other interesting strategy or locus of conflict.

I remember in 2008, the Cartoon Network Star Wars "The Clone Wars" animated run had a 3 part story which included General Grevious using a large space ship with a powerful ion cannon type WMD. The Jedi heroes had to race in before the huge ship could attack a medical center. It was a good story for the animated series.

I think you might be thinking of his ship he also had in ROTS...and I BELIEVE that IT only temporarily was cropping it's life support systems so they could take hostages or something like that so that system would sign with The Seperatists ... (Correct me if I'm wrong) ...

Wookiepedia states the huge vessel was the Malivolance. It held 2 Ion Cannons & 500 laser weapons.

Obviously the general who lived would call that order, I wonder what the starkiller's loss did to Snoke's mindset, could he find another planet to create a SB2.
