I bet anything. It will be as I said....Was the same with Clones and Sith (Menace came to Europe months after being released in the US), with Indy and every other movie...I´ll be there at midnight between 16 and 17, and I will post here my impressions right after..hey....I´m here between fanboys, so I´ll share what happened to me days ago...I have Toyota car and in the back there are Yoda ears next to the toyota symbol and a sticker on the back window BABY JEDI ON BOARD. I stopped on the red traffic lights when I saw the driver from the car behind me came out and approach to me...I pulled off the window expecting bad news, but the guy around my age (41) bend down to me and asked: So you carry too a little padawan? I didn´t expect that but I immediatelly start to laugh and point to him with my finger with an YOU BET! He raised and made the Qui-Gon move with his hand saying May the force be with you! :) I reply You too...and he came back to his car....it was surreal but it made my day happier....I found it very refreshing and funny....It´s great you see there are more real fanboys like you around and they aren´t ashamed to show up :)

I dunno, check out this video and see how long mo-cap post-production actually takes now. And bear in mind the rendering machines or "toasters" we have today are vastly more powerful than those during the 90's. I know there's all the 4KHD modelling, texturing, animating, fabrics, fluid mechanics, particle effects, etc., etc., to do as well, but even still, much of that looks as though it can probably all be done in real-time now as well.

Disney has given JJ pretty much a blank check to make this film. This film will make it's money back-no doubt there. As for changing dates, If anything, I could see Thanksgiving weekend because that is a big weekend that families would go to movies since everyone is off from school and work. A summer release? Maybe August or late July but very doubtful for that. No matter when you release it, it will make hugs amount of money. I don't want to hear about December and the holidays, or competition from other movies. This is Star Wars, not just a movie. Its a way of life for a lot of fans. You could release this on a Sunday night in Feb. and it still will kill the box office. As for the marketing and merchandise, that has been planned out well in advance. The toys have been designed a long time ago and it would not surprise me if the traditional SW figures and vehicles are made already or just about to go into mass production. Advertising posters, food chain toys/ads, commercials are already in the works, planned out and ready to roll. So if they did move up the date, it's not like they weren't ready to go and had no idea of what to do. The advertisers prepare themselves for a movie like this if the date changes and they have to move things along quicker. Will it be a pain? Yea but it is feasible to do. All the books are done and just have to be printed up in mass amounts and the bookstores will take them even if they don't have room on their shelves. They won't need shelves since the books will be flying out of the stores.
So basically, all the logistics of moving merchandise and commercials can be adjusted for a movie like this. There is too much money to be made not to be ready on a whim to change the date.

Yeah it's not going to happen.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit US theaters on December 18, 2015.

It is NOT going to change.
