They aren't even those reviews where the film 'just scrapes through' to a positive score, they are all really good reviews.

This is pretty much me right now:

Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), still rocking the greatest backcomb in movies. The hairy guy has also sharpened his sense of humour over the last 32 years – his bickering double-act with Han will have you choking laughter like you’re bringing up a fur ball

I can picture this already :D

    RT Critical Consensus:

Critics Consensus: Packed with action and populated by both familiar faces and fresh blood, The Force Awakens successfully recalls the series' former glory while injecting it with renewed energy.

Good, the only one that gave a bad review for now is someone that gave Creed a 1/4 and Mission impossible 5 a 2/4 , both movies I really liked, so I'm actually ok with the fact that he didn't like the movie xD
so excited to see this movie in less then 12 ours :D

I love the lone rotten tomato critic who gave the film a rotten verdict so far out of 77. Too artsy fartsy for his own good.

Well on Rottentomatoes.com, Creed got 176 reviews total.. I'd expect about that number for Star Wars TFA... 78 down... 100 to go! Lets keep seeing those fresh 'maters!

It'll be between 200 and 250 reviews IMO. Hunger Games had 227, I would imagine Star Wars gets similar numbers.

Not necessarily all those critics have the highest credentials, which is why they further separate the "top critics". The guy that gave the one "rotten" review is basically a blogger; not associated with the press or any other media outlet to speak of. Now I don't have a problem with a bad review, but I'm not really sure why RT would list him at all.

Wow something that reminds me of the MM:FR critic verdicts, great. there will always be some negatives, because it gives them much of attention but hey you can't make everybody happy, this is quite a promising start for a huge franchise, now compare those reviews with those other 5 moviews that surpassed the 100m mark.

That review actually made me chuckle.
Contrasting what he actually says in the review with his condensed, one-liner summary I have to think:
"Those two words - I do not think they mean what you think they mean."

    Amounts of reviews you mean?

Because Star Wars is killing the latest Hunger Games movie, in my opinion... 83 reviews. 1 negative... about 140 left to To get to about 225...

Realistic number, that was the number MMFR got before the DVD release.

    Yeah, number of reviews.

Having a look at other films, Mad Max got 331, Inside Out 301, Spectre got 285 reviews and Jurassic World 274, so it could be a lot more.

The UK premiere is tonight, I would assume quite a few more reviews will start to filter from that one too.

Usually it seems that the more positive the general consensus is, the more reviews there are.

(In other words, people say it's great, more people see it as a result, also say it's great)

    It's now certified fresh.

It's still 100% on the Top Critics part. 19 reviews, 19 fresh. Rating of 9.1.

    It doesn't suck... at all.

I liked Star Trek 2009. Fun movie and it grabbed you the entire time. Jurassic World I am in the minority and the Thor movies just... aren't good. I say comfortably that TFA is better than all those. Far better than Jurassic World (which was so cookie cutter and not suspenseful to me) and destroys STID and both Thors.

One big downfall for fans will be the diehards that spoiled the plot. Had I not known so much, I may have liked it even more. I know we could have ASSUMED certains things happened and certain people are who they are, but the average fan does not and will be blown away by the entire film.

Theres another rotten review on there now, so 2 in total.

The person who wrote this one also gave Jupiter Ascending a positive review, so take from that what you will.
