That is definitely deep, intricate and super-nerdy speculation. Fun, and it could be cool... But there is a better chance that Marrok is actually Chewbacca.

 

Any news or rumors on why Morgan is a human night sister or looks human?

 

Is there anywhere in Canon that states that the Nightsisters were any specific species? It's kinda hard to know what with the stylized animation. Asajj Ventress was different from Talzan, Merrin was also. We now see that the Nightsisters had strongholds on other planets, possibly different Galaxies... So surely they would have had various species, seemingly humanoid, but different.

If I remember correctly, there are several witch tribes on Dathomir, of which the Nightsisters are only one group. I can't seem to remember it stated anywhere that the Nightsisters, or any of the Dathomir communities, consists exclusively of Dathomirians (i.e. a sub-species of Zabrak).

For what it's worth, Wookiepedia says that the Nightsisters were an "order of magick-wielding women, most of whom were Dathomirians".

In Legends, Charla - The Witch of Endor, was (reimagined as) a Nightsister from Dathomir, and she was human. Although... Ewoks: The Battle of Endor is hardly canon at this point...


Personally, I have no problems with -- and to be honest, I greatly prefer -- that cultures in Star Wars aren't mono-species. Also, with Star Wars' heavy focus on the found family theme, I am more than willing to accept that Morgan Elsbeth is somehow a Nightsister. Hell, if C3P0, R2-D2, Luke, Leia, Han, & Chewie could become members of Wicket's Ewok tribe, then Elsbeth can be a Nightsister in my book.

 

I think that's a very valid point. I'm curious if maybe it was an afterthought, but IIRC, the reason we all jumped on the Morgan is a Nightsister thing was because the hair and makeup artist on Mando leaked it on Twitter, something like, the last witch of Dathomir, or something, which was quickly deleted.... So maybe it was going to be a much bigger reveal than it was?

Wait a minute... Are you saying that Inclusion was a thing in Star Wars that far back?! I thought that was because of Disney's woke political agenda!!!

Nightsisters are humanoid and cross-breeds are possible in SW - look at Hera's kid - he appears more human like than Twi'lek.

Maybe Morgan is a half-breed like Jacen Syndulla? Half Nightsister. Half Human.

Zabraks have 2 hearts & they mate with Nightsisters, so there's that.

I wonder if Hera had a girl, would she appear more Twi'lek? Or would that take a male Twi'lek and human female to get the lekkus to appear?

 

We already saw human/twilek hybrids, sounds horrid, but for the sake of appearance... and well, they did look completely different so I kinda am in the camp of people, that would say that Jacen taking green hair from Hera's green skin and being human otherwise, is kinda rudiculous. But it's a fantasy, who knows and just to check the twilek species where females have weird horns instead of ears and males have normal human ears, well...

From Clone Wars, where deserted clone trooper had kids with Twilek. They both look Twilek, with their skin colors being mixed.



Makes more sense to me personally and makes Jacen come off more as this safe bet not to alienate kid fans from liking him, as he looks more like a cool kid with green hair instead of a mutant.

The question is, if Nightsisters from Dathomir are the only Nightsisters there are and precisely as you guys asking, if they are more of a cult like Sith or species.
Many of us believed that they are a species or at least, the Nighsisters from Dathomir being some isolated branch (as they probably mated with the Zabraks there as well) with pale skin plus tattoos. With Asajj and co in animation, we can clearly see that the skin color is not a make up.
If I remember right, Morgan doesn't say that she is a Nightsister, but descendant/living relative, whatever that means.
Plus there are probably temples around the galaxy as we see on Seatos and going with the rumors, Morgan might be connected to Nightsisters from Peridea from which they came from.
That makes me wonder, if we will get some epic lore toss like meeting the OG Nightsisters or their descendants in the new galaxy or if we'll simply get, Nightsisters use to live here in this galaxy, before moving to SW galaxy because of something and what's left of them ended on Dathomir and with Merrin and Elsbeth. And we'll be like, OK, Elsbeth is a Nightsister and thank god, at least she didn't end up like Grand Inquisitor.
Also Elsbeth kinda doesn't fit the canon IMHO, as Merrin is the last of her kind, being on Dathomir since Grievous wiped them almost all up.
Which means, we will have to get some retcon/new character backstory of how did Elsbeth end up where she did and not contradicting the canon.

In these cases, I kinda get the sentiment of many fans to move on from the movies timeline, as with all these cool characters not appearing in the movies raises questions about where they were and they either have to die, vanish or have another cool and convoluted stories.
I had to stop reading those Marvel comic books, as they got so exciting and epic, that it makes it hard for me to believe that such stuff happened in comparison to the movies being quite straightforward and simple.

 

Mother Merrin has a nice ring to it. Just sayin.

On Jacen vs the Twi’lek kids in TCW…it might just be me, but Cutter (was that his name?) went AWOL during the war, which only goes at most…3 years was it? The two kids look older than 3 to me, which would suggest to me that they had a different father that they lost for some reason or another and Cutter was welcomed into the family.

with Morgan, I guess it comes down to, yeah what kind of connection she has to the Nightsisters. Different group? Learned from them but wasn’t on Dathomir during the purge? She was seemingly working with Empire long enough, probably hiding that side of her. I guess we’ll see if we learn more, but I think there’s ways around it to have her hiding and yet Merrin believe she’s the last.

edit: so, checked Wookieepedia. Not Cutter, but Cut (I was close), but it does list the kids as his stepchildren, linking to an old StarWars.com database on the episode. Take that as one will.

Yes, I would think those traits are probably random just like they are in RL. Jacen could have very well had Lekku or green skin. Obviously two blue-eyed parents can have a brown-eyed son, so...

EDIT: Ok, to be fair, even in my mid-20s, that last one did terrify me.
