    (my idea Boba Fett film)

Walking out of the burning Sarlacc Pitt, Boba Fett... tired and old... covered in scars (played by Tameura Morrison) decides to return to Mandalore, his reasons for living lost and scattered.

Boba Fett is broken, having lost the will to live, when he arrives on Mandalore he discovers the Mandalorian Clans are scattered and not unified, the capital city Keldabe (the city of bones combined with Keldabe) by Jaing, the tyranical overseer who was installed in his position by the empire (Overseer + Jaing)

Boba Fett finds himself joining a clan who fights to overthrow Jaing, amongst their arsenal is everything you would expect from mandalorians. Their leader is the older Sabine Wren, played by Melissa McBride.

He finds himeslf still shaken, unsure of what to do. But in the end he assists in the Assault on Keldabe, he fights Jaing hand to hand... in the end killing him and sawing his damn head off. The mandalorians on both sides kneel before Boba Fett... Declaring him Mandalore, the first to earn the title in over a thousand years.

    ----
Other Aspects include, Basilisk war droids, LAgortoz War Dragons, Mandalorian Hounds, at least one Battle Legionaire on the side of the outcast Mandalorian clan.

And controversial as it may be to Star Wars fans... A cameo by Daniel Logan, as Venku Skirata... with a Clone Commando helmet instead of a traditional Mandalorian Helmet for ihs armor.

I always thought he just had the armour and wasn't actually Mandalorian.

I think whether or not he is truely mandalorian or has mandalorian heritage is somewhat irrelevant to the idea of the story I just presented, in fact I would bring up the question of whether or not he is truly mandalorian or if his father just had a fascination with the culture...

Either way, embracing the culture gives him a new sense of purpose.

He wanted to wear the armor his father wore in his memory.

IIRC, in old canon, you didn't need to be born as Mandalorian to be considered a Mandalorian. You just needed to show allegiance to their way of life, honor code, etc... Even individuals from non-humanoid species could be considered Mandalorian if they were worthy

Does anybody else think this could be that rumored Boba Fett movie that Trank was going to make as anthology film # 2? I think his leaving the project forced Disney/Lucasfilm to shuffle the movies around while they search for a replacement director. Granted, it was never "officially" about Boba Fett and the character could very well show up in both Han's movie and Rogue One to satisfy fans desire to see him. Which in turn would also free this movie up for another character or setting (Obi-Wan, Bane, Old Republic stuff.)

In my view, I think a Fett-centric movie would be hard to do. The background presented in the PT and TCW is seen by many fans as too much exposition for a character they viewed with an aura of mystery. This even fuels support for the line of the real Boba Fett (seen in the PT and TCW) being killed by someone who then takes his name, property, relationships... his life. Drastic measures spurt forth from fans to account for the change from the earlier-era Fett to the cold-blooded businessman we knew from the OT.

Maybe Disney even got wind of the grumblings and decided to alter any possibly earlier outline involving a Fett movie as a result, regardless of director.

That said, Fett would totally work if he's a mysterious antagonist, somewhat akin to Vader in ANH, though I have some trouble seeing him as the main antagonist... Still, putting him into either Rogue One or the Solo movie makes the most sense to me. And a film about Obi-Wan in exile as the third standalone (and featuring McGregor reprising the role) really sounds much more interesting, and doable.

It's possible that Trank's project was supposed to be the 2nd anthology film but has now been pushed back to allow them to find a new director.

Personally, I'm not very keen on a Boba Fett movie. I did love Boba as a kid (that is, until I saw AOTC), but in the post-PT era my interest in that character has almost dissipated completely.

However, I wouldn't mind seeing him pop up as a supporting character with minimal dialogue in other anothology films.

I think it be just a plot based in a high value target with a big bounty in the line.

Fett is a popular character, and as has been said the "killed and taken the name" senario would work well to bring back the mystique that the PT killed.
Don't underestimate Disney's ability to milk a cash cow, or to give fans what they want (another PT lesson learned) we will see Fett and Vader again I'm sure.

There's a bit in the new Aftermath book that lays the seed for future Boba Fett stories (summary from MSW):

Makes me wonder if this is a set up for the Boba Fett anthology film. EW pretty much confirmed the 3rd anthology film will center on Fett, but I'd assumed it would take place either pre-OT or during the OT. But now I'm wondering if we'll be getting a post-ROTJ movie, with Fett either surviving the Sarlacc or someone taking on the Fett persona after he crawls out of the Sarlaac but dies from his wounds. The excerpt above makes me wonder if somebody else wears the legendary armor...

What I don't "get" about the whole, "Someone takes Fett's name" idea is that it doesn't actually give the prequel-haters what they want. It is entirely necessary for the Fett in the prequels to grow up into being the "badass" people think he is -- otherwise why would anyone have any incentive to take his name in the first place? If he were just some loser there would be no point. So then why bother to replace him at all?

Maybe they make a movie about his secret marrige to Otua Blank! Fett became his wife in Clone Wars so maybe fans will dig seeing that part of his life! For a man shrouded in mistery I have to ask, can there be a greater mistery that Fett hides than his lovelife with Blank? View attachment 14332

I really think this is a rumor blown out of proportion, but the rumor is Michael B. Jordan is in talks to play Boba Fett.
    http://comicbook.com/2015/10/10/star-wars-rumor-michael-b-jordan-in-contention-for-boba-fett-rol/

To be fair, I haven't seen any of his work

But in all seriousness, why would they fire Trank if they were to hire Jordan? This rumor just has false written all over it.

Also I really hate the idea of someone taking Boba's suit. If anybody plays him, the mask should never come off or it should be Temuera Morrison.

Personally, I can't see any reason why a Boba Fett film MUST suck; that's just people inventing their own missery before the fact. Fett as a man-of-few-words antihero sauntering through the galactic underworld would make for a great premise! Hell, Clint Eastwood made his career playing that character.

(That said, I would personally favor Fett as being a side/background character and antagonist; possibly the big badie hunting our would-be heroes akin to the Terminator or something)

I dont mind if they attempt to create a Boba Fett movie IF it is done right, iam not sure that an entire movie can be held with him alone, it would make sense in the terms of Rogue One, while he is apart of a larger group of other Bounty Hunters than him alone. I am not against it by any means, but i just wonder how they would treat that or the direction they would go. Also, their is a certain mystery and unknown factor when it comes to Fett, do we really want to see that? What makes him so awesome, is that we know what we do know about him, he is essentially an enigma of sorts and i don't know if i want that taken away.

I'd say it's not as strong as a confirmation. Their source is Entertainment Weekly, and they have a solid relationship with Lucasfilm. However, their source for a Boba Fett movie is an article from back in February... a time during which Josh Trank was still directing an Anthology film. That has all changed since then and his movie has been put on hold.

Still, they put it on that 2020 date, which is interesting. It's from EW so it has legs, but their source is outdated.
