IMO, that says a thousand things to me. And their indenity's/full name not being important is NOT one of them.

 

When I first saw Rey's concept art picture

and thought of this weapon seeing she got a whip type weapon hanging on her belt.



Also thought Rey with that lightsaber along with Han solos blaster.

 

Yep she's armed to the teeth.

Wait a minute,...where did that come from?

 

No doubt getting repetitious for those who don't skip my posts, but: Rey could be a contraction of Naberrie, the house to which Padme belonged on Naboo and therefore Leia's true heritage. If Rey is Leia's daughter, it wouldn't surprise me if Leia included Naberrie in her name in honour of her mother and Rey shortened it herself....

Any theories on why the daughter of Han and Leia might be living alone in destitution? Even if they're hiding her for her own safety, why should she have to live the life of a scavenger?

 

I have one and it ties into the a shot of R2 in during the presentation. R2 was on the dessert planet. The Scene in teh trailer has Luke and R2 in a flashback on the dessert planet. At least that's what I see...

So theory, Rey was maybe 8-10 and on her way to be trained by Uncle Luke at his new academy. Before she got there and while Luke was away the academy was attacked. Luke thinks everyone is dead including his niece who was on the way. She was instead hidden by the "Vicar" who was bringing her to the planet and he was going to give her to Luke but he never saw Luke. The Vicar keeps her hidden for safety.

 

They think she's dead?

Yeah, so that would imply to me that she doesn't have parents (or doesn't realize that she does). I still think she is Han and Leia's daughter, especially the emphasis on "my sister has it...and now you have that power." The words he said to Leia. Leia is rumored to not have taken up the jedi mantle so it's now up to her daughter. Although it would be particularly horrible for Han to die when he just comes into the realization his daughter is alive and his son is a monster.
