Okay, but of course, that's an assumption. It seems to me that when the Death Star was destroyed, and Vader was know to be on it, and then he never turned up again, most people would probably put two and two together. The location of his funeral pyre would not be known to anyone other than Luke, but there's no reason Luke couldn't have told people.

Honestly, I'm not really sure why it matters - at least in so far as it impacts whether or not Rey would know Vader's identity. Even if only a few people know about Vader, there's no established reason why Rey couldn't be one of them.

Based on what? There is no evidence to suggest she lives with anyone, let alone Luke.

That's a million dollar question everyone's been asking. MSW seems to think she doesn't know the falcon when she and Finn steal it. I personally find it highly unlikely she would steal the falcon by chance and then run into Han by chance. Until more light is shed on that it will remain a mystery.

 

Good point. How do we think Kylo finds out its location?

 

Maybe Luke told him. IF he's a Skywalker then I'm sure he was close with Luke at one point. Its total speculation but it makes sense.

 

I think that the scene with R2 and Luke is the same village attacked by Kylo and company on Jakku, I think Luke arrives a little late and everyone is dead, village torched. That is why I believe that if both Luke and Rey are on Jakku it is probable she is training her, perhaps they are not together all the time and she is still kind of solitary. Perhaps Luke watches over her like Obi-Wan did with Luke.

There are many different spoilers and rumors out there of all shapes and sizes, but the one thing they all seem to agree on is that Luke has been in hiding or missing for a considerable amount of time. Given that and Daisy's solitary comment I don't think Luke is with or even watching over Rey.

Also, I don't think that the seen with Luke and R2 in the trailer is him at the burned village. There is a lot of debate over how much screen time Luke has but whether he has allot of screen time or little he is not not going to show up this early in the movie. The village is likely burned very early in the movie.

 

I'm willing to throw down credits on the R2 and Luke scene in the trailer being filmed in that giant cave. If the rumors prevail, then MvS is looking over Kira.

 

I agree that Luke is in hiding, I actually just said that on this same page, so I'm not sure what you are getting at. Regarding Daisy's comment I guess we had a different interpretation of it, I thought she was clearly giving away that she is a Solo, besides being solitary does not mean she is a hermit living in a cave without human contact.

I agree that scene is early in the movie as well, and you have a point that perhaps it's too early in the movie for him to show, but perhaps we don't even get to see his face like in the trailer.

 

I hadn't thought about the cave, you might be right. There are still many things that make me think it's the same village scene, the lighting, the fire, the colors, the ground, I get the idea that both seem to be sad or mourning, perhaps the massacred villagers? Who knows for sure.

 

Maybe he's cremating Han, or........just roasting marshmallows waiting for Rey.

 

I don't think Han is ready to go that way yet.

Not sure if anyone has seen this interview of Daisy Ridley in Japan, sorry if already posted.

 

My gut says she's the Luke Skywalker in the new trilogy and Princess Leia is nuts and is the new Darth Vader/Empress. Everyone else in intertwined. I think Driver is Han and Leia's kid bowing to Leia, Rey is Luke's kid and she's been hidden away because sometime after the war, Leia went all nut bag. Maybe ran into some twisted Sith Lord that turned her. Leia tries to turn Rey and Luke (or Rey) ends Leia in the final movie. Luke's role expands as the trilogy unfolds. The force is strong in this family and it has a history of being on both sides of the fence. I don't see Luke going bad, but there's no reason Leia can't. Heck, maybe even Han and Chewie were imprissoned. Who knows, maybe Han's demise is all wrong and it's Luke that gets it only to become a force ghost throughout the series and Han and Chewie help the new cast along the way.

Daisy Ridley may have let slip a big clue about her character in Star Wars:

 

I'm probably wrong but wasn't there a rumor saying that Rey had a crystal that was significant to her and the plot? What if that crystal is hidden in the staff hence why she keeps the staff with her at all times?
