    I don't get all the people being so critical of this movie before it even comes out. What exactly are people expecting from a movie about giant robots fighting giant monsters? The story seems a little cliché but at least it's a little different than what Hollywood usually pumps out. It's like people want to complain about having the same thing over and over but then also complain about different stuff like this. I'm probably going to see this because John Boyega is in it and unlike the first one, you can actually see what's going on in the fights. Oh well, can't please everybody.

    Totally agree.....when I go to a Pacific Rim movie, I am going to see one thing - Jaegers vs Kaiju.....I am not going for dialog, or characterization, or pretty cinematography.

    This trailer is great.....Boyega looks like he is having fun in this movie. I am looking forward to it.

    I'm admittedly in the cautiously optimistic category, if only because of one minor issue. In the first movie, the Jaegers felt like they had a weight or heaviness to them. Nothing in the trailers shows that these Jaegers have the same weight. It's similar to people who don't like the PT fight scenes because they're so different from the OT ones. And that's fair. THAT BEING SAID, this is 10 years in the future. Think about the technology changes from 2007-2017 (since it's too soon for a 2008-2018 comparison). Technology is EONS different! And so my complaint is invalidated, but it's something I'm fighting. I'm still excited for this movie, and I don't think it'll be a make-or-break criticism.

    Agreed! Giant Robots vs Monsters is the heart of this franchise. Everything else is just icing on the cake!

    I have to say, I enjoy seeing John Boyega in a serious role in which his character gets to take charge and be inarguably integral.
