SPECULATION Possible hint of the TFA Plot in Rebels - Empire Day

I don't think it would be wasting his talent. He is a talented actor and is also very funny. I would love for him to play an alien. A sidekick isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think between Gleeson, Serkis, and Von Sydow one of them is voicing an alien and lately it seems Serkis isn't actually providing voice as much a consultant for mo cap which is why he was needed at the reading, but then again I'm just speculating

and you do realize that living with Han/Leia is a dangerous idea, given that they would be famous throughout the Galaxy. Most rumors seem to imply a Cold War or Galactic War for 30 years.

 

Yeah if Ridley is the daughter or Luke then I can see her going to live in the AT-AT as protection if someone is hunting Jedi or descendants/apprentices of Luke and or Vader.
But to me she looks more like a daughter of Leia, but still fits what I said being in hiding and all.

 

What makes you think Serkis doesn't have a role? A mo-cap consultant wouldn't need to be at a script reading, that's like saying the fight choreographer needs to be there. Serkis has a role, they wouldn't have hired his company if they weren't getting him too. I'm not sure where the idea of Von Sydow voicing an alien is coming from.

Look, it's plausible, but it creates way too many questions if she is a Skywalker. If she is a Skywalker that won't be revealed until the very end of the film or in VIII. Personally I would not be happy with that plot point, but like I've said I'm the sole voice defending this at times.

 

i'm with you, man. i think all the whole rumor-mill is contaminated at this point and has been built up on false foundations. i feel like the chances are pretty slim that they would almost directly copy the story of Legacy for TFA. if i'm wrong i'm not super bummed about it, it's not a bad story or anything, i just bet they have something else cooking and all of this has been a charade. which, to be honest, would be pretty impressive! kudos to the powers that be for keeping us all guessing!

this is true. okay, she could be either Luke or Leia's kid.

 

Maybe a war that shifted into a Cold War, perhaps for some time neither the Rebels nor the Empire have made any major advancements and the war is at a standstill, but everyone is betting on the Rebellion to outlast the Empire (which of course the Empire is going to push the Rebels back and set them back a few decades in the ST)

 

The reason I think Serkis doesn't have a role is the same as to why you think Gleeson is a skywalker, because I thought it up and it makes sense to me. Such a large film like Star Wars using serkis' company for an important mo cap character would be enough reason for him to be at the reading FYI...

Gleeson is totally going to be Luke's son. I mean look at the guy!
As for Serkis, he said himself it's more of a cameo in an interview. I'm thinking you won't be able to tell it's him but he will be there for most of the movie.

 

I'm pulling for if he's related to anyone it's a Kenobi bloodline (maybe obi wan is his uncle so it's not a direct connection to obi wan). I just don't want to have backstory of mara jade or luke's wife...it would be such a huge relationship to have happened off screen to me, but Gleeson does look very skywalkerish!

Unless Luke had some dark times roaming around cantina's in the past 30 years and ended up knocking up some outlander...please don't let that be the case. Gleeson - "Luke, you're my father." Luke - "NOOOO, that's impossible!"

 

I don't want any relatives besides a Solo or Skywalker, having a relative of someone else just makes the galaxy seem smaller. Gleeson should be a Skywalker or not related at all, but I heard he got the part Jesse Plemons auditioned for, which was the son of Luke Skywalker.

ditto! i can't wait for the trailer to come out so we can see what's actually happening in this movie! or at least a small glimpse into what's actually happening...

 

I will reiterate my theory, that this comic may have been based around some of the earlier versions of the script in order to work out some of the problems in the script by gauging fan reaction.
