Honestly, from the looks of it, it's not going to tell any significant story points like about Luke's saber (even with Cloud City). It seems like it will reveal details on what happens to factions and planets - bigger-picture type stuff. They will save tidbits like Luke's Lightsaber for bigger, more significant things.

It might be just because I hate mobile games, but to me it would seem like a dis-justice to use a mobile game as the way that Luke's Lightsaber is found. So far the game's biggest selling point is it's "post-ROTJ". We don't even know how good it will be.

Hi Viral, not sure if your quote was a response to me. The "leak" I was referring to is an older one that suggested that the First Order had high ranking people who dressed sort of like Vader...like Vader stormtroopers. I thought it was EricHizzo's info, but I don't see anything suggesting that there. Maybe I just confused it in my head, but it's interesting to now see some Vader like stormtroopers in canon.

It's actually a very interesting design. If there was no holster for the blade, I would think they were lightsabers. Still sort of do. If we can have some crazy Excalibur blade, why can't we have some katana-type sabers? Remember though, the Force has not Awoken yet ;-)

Also her name is Deathstick (which is pretty lame). So she is either a chain smoker in the Star Wars Universe or...

What the game does do is set up how factions of the Empire sought to maintain control and would set the stage for the Battle of Jakku.

What if the player character ends up being responsible of taking the saber to Jakku during the story? :D

I hope this game is as good as everyone wants it to be, but I'm far from impressed. My experience with mobile gaming has been thus: Cool looking ads with lots of hype, terrible game with little to no animation and lots of incremental payments. This all screams of being a money-trap. I hope I'm wrong, but if Game of War: Fire Age is any example, we're in for a massive disappointment.

I also doubt this will have any major story developments that aren't covered in other media; I expect there to be a line in the Aftermath novel akin to "Rebel agents, working with local smugglers, have further destabilized the Empire's hold over the Anoat Sector." Entire relevant plot of the game, summarized and retold elsewhere.

Just because there is a Hutt in the game, it does not make him/her Jabba by default :)

I keep seeing the "smuggler character" in the cover art:

    uprising-small.jpg

    As this guy:

    old spice diamonds.jpg

"Look at my blaster, now back at me, now back at my blaster, NOW BACK TO ME!"
    --- Double Post Merged, Jun 5, 2015 ---
Questions and thoughts that come to mind:

    1) Is Jakku considered part of this Anoat sector of space?

    2) If so, does Imperial Governor Adelhard end up being "The Vicar" or Max Von Sydow's character in TFA?

    3) Allowing Bespin to be in the Anoat sector, if Jakku is in in the Anoat sector as well, would provide a better transition for explaining how the "floating lightsaber" theory would work?

    4) Even if Jakku is not in the Anoat sector of space, allowing Bespin in uprising allows for a more plausible idea that someone from that sector secured the lightsaber and setting forward the motions to get it somehow to Jakku, instead of it just floating in space after Luke's hand is removed in ESB

    5) Seems like Riley is somewhat of a "Rey-type" character in the game

    6) It is interesting there is a "Nobles" faction in the game. It may lend some creedence to the rumor that an ill-king has allowed "Prince Kylo Ren" to power-grab

    Would appreciate your opinions/thoughts...

*** NOTE - per the website: ""free from the restraints of canon, the universe of SWU is a beast all it's own" - so it appears its not canon... :(

@Magnar the Great - That's what you get when you trust reddit... :( I thought I had read your prior post stating it was canon - maybe they were just referring to the gameplay as non-canon but the storyline as canon - I prefer the latter - thanks!
