    Fun fact about grievous:

He was designed after a spray bottle from a bathroom and one of the sound designers voiced him by submitting an audition under a fake nMe and they wanted a big nme actor originally (Gary Oldman I think)

Yeah I like how Dolly is a part of the "Fallen Twenty jedi" and turned because he lost Qui-Gon which is similar to what ends up happening to Anakin in ROTS that when he finds out Padme's dead, that's when his transformation to the dark side is complete.

I like fallen Jedi driven by lose and temptation to make them more tragic. Darth Maul, Palpatine are great as well for variety, but ones like Vader and Dooku are more relatable, more human when they go bad because they lose too much and have no other way to go than the dark side.[/QUOTE]

Don't worry my friend cause I'm well aware of that trivia which many PT haters seem to ignore:

Also I love how when Jar Jar yells and leaps into the water to Gunga City, the jedi casually wade in.

The next highlight or the Prequels I would like to bring light to is the sequence where the bongo was procured to travel through Naboo's planet core. The whole trip is well done, and quite interesting, and visually entertaining:

The monsters, the trip, the bongo, very original concepts throughout the sequence.

A short trip was turned into a visually entertaining adventure. Something to appreciate about The Phantom Menace, amongst other things.

Another highlight I would like to address is the immersive atmosphere by the blockaded planet of Naboo.

Again a picture is worth a thousand words:

TPM is a very visually stylistic and immersive movie. All original concepts.

The Boonta Eve Podrace in "The Phantom Menace". It is my favorite sequence in the entire STAR WARS movie franchise. From the moment when Anakin, Qui-Gon and the others arrived at the arena, to the moment when Qui-Gon introduced Anakin to Obi-Wan . . . I simply love this entire sequence.

Yessir. The Prequels never deserved the flack they received. They were visually stunning and entertaining movies.

What people fail to understand is that, without the PT, a lot of tech in VFX wouldn't have been developed until much later .

thats the hard part...becasue of the over saturation, it's hard no to differentiate like what was capable of back during the prequels.

Never really liked the PT but some time ago i was flying to australia from germany and being in a plane 24 hours i was watching all seven Episodes in a row. I learned two things: no.1: all Episodes are fine (especially EP 3) .no.2: australia is beautiful but Star Wars makes it even better! :)
My favorite scene is when Obi wan tells anakin: i have failed you anakin! I have failed you!

I have a few highlights from the prequel trilogy, mostly for the expanding of the fantastical tech I always associate with the franchise...

Like countless others, the introduction of the lightsaber to popular culture when I was a kid was a key moment for me, so when the PT showed that they could even cut through doors my inner fanboy went to lightspeed!
I'm sure I've put this in another thread before, but the speed and ferocity of Maul's out-of-nowhere attack on Qui-Gon is a great scene and credit to clever editing. For me this short angry burst is even better than the brilliantly choreographed and realised Maul, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan showdown on Naboo.

I was a bit underwhelmed by many of of the prequel ships (Padme's ship, Maul's Interceptor, the droid control ships, Republic cruisers/proto-Star Destroyers etc) as I always think they pale in comparison to the iconic OT craft, but with time I have to admit I've come to appreciate the glaring yellow and chrome Naboo fighters...
    ...the Delta-7 starfighter with it's orbiting 'jump/hyperdrive'...
    ...and the Eta-2 Interceptor
    [IMG]

As @Amanaman rightly said earlier in the thread, the other highlight was the huge expansion to the bestiary of aliens and races in the SW universe, with particular favourites of mine including Watto, Aurra Sing, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti and Luminara Unduli

Continuing with my promise of covering the entire PT, I pick up where I left off and would like to highlight the planet of Naboo.

Beautiful, immersive, original landscapes with architecture of original design, Naboo will always remain a staple of the imagination into distant galaxies and the unknown...

...a glaring omission from my list of things I liked in the PT.

Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus. Because Christopher Lee was and remains AWESOME*. Period.

*irrespective of some dodgy dialogue, badly aged CGI speeder riding and a daft 'sail ship'.

    Next on the agenda:

Also unbeknowst to some, Keira Knightley (who I think is smoking hot and much similar to an Ex of mine) played:

The decoy of the Queen of Naboo.

Speaking of which I would like to highlight this scene in particular. A genius behind the scenes plot point easily missed.

The decoy says (when asked to choose whether or not to leave Naboo): "Either way presents great danger to us all." to which Padme responds "We are brave your highness." In other words the decoy was looking for direction without blowing Padmes identity, and Padme gave that direction.

I still have much to cover from Episode 1-3 (Still Not Through Even TPM yet), but this is my daily highlight.
