Oh I am finding it entirely credible... of course, it could be fake, and it does not show any faces, so it can't be confirmed absolutely, but... it does not make any staggering revelations, it is just simple footage, which is what one would expect if it WERE authentic

According to the email I received, the concept of "Luke is missing/needs to be found" in Episode VII is being approached somewhat from the wrong angle in other rumor reports. The source says the "find Luke" premise is based off the cast of young characters (Ridley, Boyega, others?) trying to deal with a problem they uncover that they feel they can overcome themselves, presumably something relating to the machinations of the Sith and/or Empire. They feel confident in their abilities to attack this challenge head-on and quickly realize they are severely out-matched and way out of their league. So they alter their plans and scramble to enlist the aid of Luke, who is unaware of the situation (and how rapidly it escalates to a problem that requires his immediate attention) at the time of his "searching" by the young cast.

The source wasn't sure of Luke's whereabouts at the start of the film or how long it takes for the young cast to "find" him. The source was also unable to ascertain if the above information was part of the original Michael Arndt script or from the revised Abrams/Kasdan script (though I would assume the former).

With the abundance of rumors already swirling around out there, I cannot recall if any portion of what you read above has been provided in a previous rumor report. As always, take this info with as much salt as you desire.

 

The thing that bothers me most about this is the candles. There's no need to place candles all over the floor. I obviously don't know for sure if it's real or not, but I have to lean towards fake because the candles are just such an unnecessary item. It's almost like the people making this needed some kind of prop to make it look real...?

 

By the same token... anyone faking it would probably have used something much more convincing...

Of course, you are not alone in your doubt, and better minds than me agree that this is probably some fan who visited the location afterwards... as I noted above, no faces being shown is a huge problem with authenticating it.

One thing that I can't get past, however, is that the person posting it says, "I did some Googling and found out" that Abrams and Hamill were filming there. Seems to know a lot of details about some things, but had to Google them being on Skellig Michael? Who among us who has been following even causally, and certainly close enough to be receiving this kind of stuff from god-knows-what inside source, didn't know they had been on Skellig Michael?

 

Hoax. Someone is just having a bit of fun.

 

Not really... First thing is not knowing the collective IQ of the guys making it. You also got to figure they grabbed what would fit into a backpack (as they have to cross over to the island) and something that could be quickly set up and picked up when done.

 

Showed this to someone who would know. Hoax, but a good one. Look at how cheap the robe is on the one close up shot. The comment above about the candles is a good point as well.

 

I have no idea how to tell how cheap a robe looks from these shots. The best way to really be sure is to see how long this lasts on YouTube. If it lasts it's either a hoax or disinformation.

It would not have lasted an hour on YouTube if this was the real thing

 

That footage is awful.

 

The story line for Attack of the Clones lasted a little while before it was removed. It could take a day or two.

 

So the video is not working because the account got terminated so........?

 

So it's either real, and got terminated because it was real, or it is fake, and they deleted their own account to make it look real...

Anyone with more YouTube experience than me know the error message differences between a self deleted account, and an admin deleted one?

 

Re-opened per request. I will allow this to run its course.

My thoughts -- I haven't seen the video as it was pulled down but the stills I saw looked really cheesy and thus fake IMO.
