    Could someone explain what this means?

    Also why the mod's don't ever seem to respond to direct messages when you ask this sort of thing? Everything seems rather more mysterious than it needs to be.

    Are you referring to some technical issue that is blocking certain threads that are available to others? Or thread that are locked prohibiting future replies by anyone?

    I'm not seeing "Thread is locked." I am just seeing "You lack the credentials to post" (I'm paraphrasing because it isn't right in front of me.) For one thing, I wanted to post in the contest thread and it wouldn't let me.
