The Last Crusade felt like it was made by a very fatigued Spielberg, it's more a collection of moments than a real story but.. the last 15 minutes are peak Indiana Jones. The fact this goes last is a testiment to how great the series is.

The only real problem I had with Crystal Skull was the pacing in the middle, it has a drop off point and only dedicated fans can push through it.. but honestly I really like the cartoonishness of this movie which retroactively added more colour to the whole series (like Return of the Jedi did)

Dial of Destiny is a good movie.

 

That's part of why they're great (as a narrative style - execution varies).

Tale Ark, not only do we get a pulp here, but a pulp of the divine comedy about the futility of man against the forces greater than themselves. The whole thrust here, and comedy of it, is both sides are dillusional. One thinks they can use god as a power, and the other thinks they can save god.

In the end, it's just a quagmire in the dirt that has no berring at all on this massive force.

And that's great fun. Your hero's just a guy who can't help but try in spite of ultimately being cosmically pointless.

1. Raiders - Essentially a perfect adventure/action film that's been copied over and over but never equaled.
2. The Last Crusade - Not the most original, but it's fun.
3. Temple of Doom - First film I ever saw in a theater
4. Dial of Destiny - This might move up over time since I've only seen it once.
5. Crystal Skull - Something has to be last.
