Just seen it a 2nd time.

I think it just cemented what I thought the first time around. Thought I might have been going off emotion off first viewing, but I wasn't.

It was just as good again.

So great the first time. A frenetic, fun, emotional experience.
So great the second time. More paced when you know the events. Even more emotional for me this second time. More moments of joy. Powerful moments still so powerful. Catched more details like Nien Nunb's death and more understandable Emperor connections.

A clearly movie that I will never be bored. So much details that worth to see it again multiple times. I enjoy even more the coolest moments.
-I could see an enitre movie about Babu Frik and his talking.
-The cinematography, the light and photography in Kijimi with Zorii Bliss and the group in the streets it's soooooo classic. For me that's pure cinema.
-Kylo and Rey fights are sublime (the one that alternates places and over the Death Star).
-Rey moments (training, lightning and finale) are overwhelming.

I liked it after the first viewing, but had more complaints than I did after episode 7 and 8. Second viewing was more fun, because I spent less time thinking about the problems and just took it all in. But I would say my rating is around a 7/10, and after seeing the reviews, I'm just glad that I like it. I grew up with the prequels and spent the last 2 years gushing about TLJ, so I never really had trouble figuring out how i feel about movies for myself. Still a little bummed that a thing I had so much fun with gets so much crap, but I agree that it's far from perfect.

Yep it got me excited the first time, that's why I've saw it 6 times at the cinema & 40 times online.

Just saw it for the third time in a week. I liked it more with each viewing. I enjoyed this movie tremendously.
I will probably see it again in the theater at least one more time.

Watched it for a second time today. I was an 8 year old in 1977. So knowledgeable about the movies. The only thing I didn’t get was who were all of these people in robes hanging out with Palpatine? Looked like there were thousands of them. We’re they spirits of past sith? Or does he have a choir?

Just finished seeing it for a second time! My opinion hasn't changed. Still a 6/10 to 7/10. My family and friends still range the spectrum from "hate it" to "loved every second," and everything in-between; so take that as you will.

Ok so my first viewing was on the opening Thursday Morning & I had a blast yes it’s fast paced & I certainly missed things. My second viewing was the one I was a bit nervous off as I was going with a group of friends who weren’t that keen on TLJ & I had no idea how they would react to the film so I was both keen & rather nervous for there reaction & they really really liked it ( to my immense relief) not that there opinion on the film would effect our friendship.
Anyway I still have 2 viewings booked let’s see if my feelings for this film changes

Finally solidified my plans for the weekend. Seeing it for time #2 on Saturday night with a friend who has seen TROS already and time #3 on Sunday night with a different friend who has not seen it yet!

Just finished the 2nd viewing. The pacing in the first half went from blazing and jarring to perfect. The final half of the film was perfect. Palpys return makes total sense, and his diabolical plan while still full of holes, much like his plan in ROTJ, was not an issue and was totally in his character, pure arrogance and lack of respect for his enemies. The humour, while I caught it all on first viewing and liked it, was even better and more on point the 2nd time.

Overall my experience was better, taking my rating from a 7, to an 8 out of 10. After TESB and TLJ, TROS is my 3rd favorite film so far.

    Same here.

Also the OV was much better than the German dubbed version, I don't normally complain about the synchro, but you could tell how much work they had put into making Palpatine's voice sound like it did, the German voice was no comparison.

Watched TROS for the second time. My opinion hasn't changed much. A solid 7 out of 10, just like TLJ and TFA for me. So, I guess this is a 7/10 trilogy for me, while the OT would be 10/10 and the PT a 6.5/10. By the way, Rogue One is a 9/10 for me and Solo a solid 8/10.

In my second view of TROS I identified a few things I missed, like the 2nd transport in the desert planet and the old generation Tie Fighter that Ben used to get out of the Endor moon (in my first view I was left scratching my head how had Ben left the Endor moon). The film is clearly a bit too fast paced. I'm sure I'm going to spot more details in following viewings.

I think TROS is a good movie but it had the potential to be much better. Some scenes could have been more powerful emotionally, and I finished watching the movie with the same feeling I finished my first viewing. I wanted a bit more at the end. The ending is good but it felt rushed. I wished we could have been allowed to savor more of what happened with the characters at the end of this 9 movies saga, and that they could have received more time for closure.

I also think the ending is a bit too sad. Sure, the characters are happy because they defeated (?) Palpatine, again. And I'm sure the galaxy is happy. But, I still found this to be a a bit of a bitter sweet ending for such an important and defining movie saga, perhaps the most important of all.

I really enjoyed TROS on the first viewing, but the pacing felt like the movie was on steroids. The 2nd viewing is MUCH better as it slows down (this happens with me for every 2nd viewing of a new SW movie). I was able to take everything in this time and really follow the story now. I like the first half of the movie, but it really hits its stride once Rey/Kylo face off on Death Star 2 (which coincides with Leia's death). It was just one emotional scene after another with Han and Ben, Luke and Rey, Chewy crying when he finds out about Leia, The Emperor vs Rey/Ben. I still love the ending where Rey goes to Tatooine as JJ knocked it out of the park with The Lars Homestead, Luke/Leia Force Ghost, and Rey Skywalker. Not a dry eye for me after that trifecta!

Seen it 3 times. The first time I loved it, the second time I felt a bit unsure about it but that may have been caused by my physical status that day. The third time it felt like a Star Wars movie , in the classic sense. Although I got all the details and underlying stuff already on the first wieving it really grew on me by the third time. Even the Reylo stuff felt natural and not a bit gringeworthy as it was on the first wieving. And since I chose to see it through the eyes of a 12 year old me who enjoyed a great adventure, instead of an adult me who would like to have an explanation to everything, it was a far better experience.

I liked it slightly better the second time, but still very disappointed. I don't plan to see it again in theaters.

After my second viewing I've come to the conclusion that I really want to see more from this set of characters.

I want to see what Rey does next. Does she start a Jedi temple/school? How will it go? I want to see her fight someone/something with that new saber. :) Is BB-8 officially her droid instead of Poe's from now on?

How will Finn's journey with the force begin? Will he train to be a Jedi or just sort of use it passively the way people like Maz do?

How will Poe handle taking Leia's spot?

What will Ben Solo and Rey's relationship be like now that Ben is in the afterlife? Will they communicate daily or just every few years like most force ghosts? Now that force ghosts can make physical contact, will they essentially be able to like .... y'know .... hold hands? What? Where did your mind go?? ;-)

What in the heck are Lando and Jannah gonna do together? Will Lando and Chewie take the Falcon and go on adventures with Jannah? Will they ever make it clear that Jannah is supposed to be his daughter? Will Lando's conversation with Jannah at the end of the film ever not be super creepy? =P

... I could go on. But I take this all as a testament to what JJ was able to accomplish since I finally care to see more from characters aside from Kylo Ben.

I'm sure we'll get books or comics that address most of these questions, but .... I've had very mixed results with the books and comics. The animated shows have generally been great but I doubt they would revisit this particular part of the Star Wars universe with a TV show. What do ya'll think?

So just got back from our 4th viewing and I tell you it is just what my family needed. Yesterday we had to let our dog Willow become one with the force and we have been a mess. We got in the car today and just drove and decided to stop in an watch TROS again. Just what our hearts needed. A little warmth and hope and an audience that seemed to love it. Heard laughs when their should be laughs, sniffles when their should be sniffles and cheers when we should cheer.

I for the one of me dont understand what people didnt like.

After my initial viewing I was severely disappointed and had no intention of seeing it again. I had already committed to seeing it with someone though and felt I should honor that. So I went a second time. I'm still disappointed but was able to enjoy it more the second time. I have to give sincere thanks and credit to the people in this forum for increasing my enjoyment the second time. After my first viewing I believed that many things didn't make sense. That was partially because of how fast things happened in the movie and I ended up just plain old missing some things. People here gave me more info and some things that I thought made no sense suddenly made sense. So thank you cantina posters!

I'm still disappointed in the movie. Enough still doesn't make sense. It made the whole sequel trilogy feel like a huge waste of time. I truly envy those that love this movie. I honestly wish I did. I'm really sad that I feel strangely disconnected from Star Wars now.

Whenever episodes 1-6 were on TV and I happened to be channel surfing, I would always watch the rest of whatever one was on. Hey, Star Wars is on! Yeah! With the ST, I would probably keep going through the channels. I really thought that TROS would make the whole ST worth all of the let downs of TFA and TLJ, but for me it didn't.

I love The Mandolorian and am looking forward to Obi Wan and Cassian Andor. I have high hopes for future Star Wars movies and trilogies. However, if JJ Abrams is involved I will skip it. I won't watch anything that man makes ever again.

I just want to add that I could watch Daisy Ridley be Rey all day long. I actually like all of the characters, it's just what happens to them and how that is a huge disappointment.

Got back from viewing #3 a little while ago. My opinion of the film did not increase or decrease. After all, I can't really give a higher rating than "love." But it is kind of interesting how all the details and motivations and plot points really start to make clear sense after three times. At this point I feel like I have a better understanding of this film than any of the others.

Looking forward to watching again on home video whenever that happens. :)

Loved it the first time even though full of questions and doubts, LOVED it as a true Star Wars piece of art the second time! Reached my top 3 easily, the way it connects every dot is just great and satisfying.
