Recasting Thread - Who Would You Want To See As An Established Character?

I personally hope they let just one actor play there own character and not keep using the same characters with different actors. However if I had a time machine Tom Hardy would be our new Anakin Skywalker.

 

Also You blow my freaking mind with how much Tom Hiddleston looks like a young Palpatine. That's awesome man.

 

Charlie Hunnam or Richard Madden/Armitage for Anakin.

 

I understand the purpose of this thread but personally I'd HATE to see anyone re-cast. I loathe the idea of anyone else playing Han Solo, even though its most likely going to happen as a spinoff showing his back story in the years prior to ANH.

 

If they Re-Cast I hope they do it right...But I can see the Tron Legacy CGI-Face Technology being used...It looked amazing but also scary. Anyone remember The Running Man? Sometimes the shadows and details were poor...I am sure that they are going to develope that tech like crazy if they are thinking of using this.

 

I think I'd rather have a re-cast than CGI face. LOL

 

Too me recasting is just silly. Just have one actor play one character. If you want Joseph Gordon Levitt or Cumberbatch in a star wars movie give them an original character that they can make their own and not always live in the shadow of what came before.

You are right! nobody can replace Ford, Hamil, Fisher and co. We have grown so fond of these characters that no one else could take their place

 

If they needed a young actress to play Leia, then Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones would be brilliant. She plays Arya if you were wondering. I would only accept child actors playing the characters when they are children, other than that I don't think I could associate anyone else playing the roles.

 

I think if we had a time machine convince Leonardo Dicaprio to play Anakin, and save Tupacs Life so him and Samuel L Jackson could be master and Padawan (jackson being the master). I gotta agree I am not thrilled that they are thinking of doing a young Han Solo movie did they learn nothing from young Indiana Jones lol

 

Yeah I am not digging that Han Solo movie idea either it is borderline heresy I would much rather see Ewan wander through the desert in Obi Wan spin off

 

Tywin could be younger Dooku with a young Qui-gon as his paddawan. Cool idea. Now who could play young Qui-gon? And maybe even a child Obi-wan?

Side note: If the PT were being made now, I think that the new Harry Osborn(Amazing Spiderman 2) would make a great Anakin.

 

Thomas Kretschmann looks a lot like Liam but the downside is he is only like a decade younger. He could definalty pass as a 30 year old Qui Gon though imo.

 

My choice is Grand Moff Tarkin in a much more dominant and menacing role in the Prequel Trilogy. I think we would've enjoyed seeing, and I really wish GL would've cast him......... Christopher Walken as Captain or Admiral Tarkin in the Prequels.

 

@Vegeta Fett, I recall hearing a rumor many years ago, before the release of ep. 1. That Leonardo Dicaprio, because he was a huge fan of Star Wars. Was invited to Skywalker Ranch for a private screening of The Phantom Menace. After which he asked George Lucas if he could audition for the role of Anakin and as the rumor went, Leo even said he would cut his regular salary for doing a film in half. But George Lucas turned his offer down. He said that Leo was to well known of an actor and that he wanted to go with an unknown.

 

I really wish they had gone with Paul Walker of Fast & Furious fame. He was not a well known actor at that point, but Hayden still got the job.
