Yeah, he did. Maybe they will be a big part of episode IX. I think that it would be a waste to not have them do something in the sequel trilogy at all.

 

They are mentioned, so I expect them to appear in some way.

 

Well the original guards did so much. They have a tough act to follow.

 

I'm pretty convinced that these guards will onlybe seen and expanded upon sometime in the future in the other materials similar to what i think of the knights of ren

A "master" of something can also be one who has defeated it. Accordingly, the "Master of the Knights of Ren" can be interpreted as having defeated them... This has always stuck in the back of my mind as a reason why we do not see much about them in the future of the films. We got a flashback, saw Kylo with them, but it is possible they later turned against each other and he defeated them... becoming their master. Perhaps it is even similar to how the comics revealed that Palpatine was constantly trying to replace Vader with the various incarnations of the "Cylo" cyborgs... (It has also always stuck in my mind the similarity between "Cylo" and "Kylo"... but I digress...)

The suggestion that there are no KOR in TLJ, and instead we get these Elite Praetorian Guards, would perhaps follow such an explanation of the "Master of the Knights of Ren"... just sayin'.

I think those holding their breath wanting to find out more about the KOR might be disappointed. MSW is definitely moving in a direction away from the KOR being in the movie and remember when JJ was said that if he could do a stand alone he would like to do one about the KOR. This seems to point to very little development of the KOR. IX would seem like a little late in the game to make them a big story. It seems like they are going to remain a mystery. I would say similarly to how the clone wars was just a reference in ANH until George decided to do the PT

 

I feel KOR will be like a dark side version of Guardians of the Whill in the Rogue one. Group of believers that will die for their cause.
As I can see, none of depicted KOR (except Kylo) uses Light saber , which points they are in fact armed more or less conventionally, like Guardians of the Whill.

 

You know I was thinking along these lines recently. Maybe Kylo killed all of the KOR and became the master. Maybe Snoke convinced him to do it as a way to prove his loyalty but behind the scenes Snoke couldn't do it so he recruited Kylo to do the dirty work? Maybe we'll see a flashback showing Kylo killing them??? Maybe not??? But still...

 

Agreed. It could be similar to ANH, where Tarkin makes reference to the imperial senate being disbanded and no more. They might unceremoniously drop the idea of KOR altogether with a gesture like that.

 

Honestly, if it's leaking that the KOR and Snoke are largely absent, I'm inclined to believe they'll play a part. It's hard to tell which leaks are strategic and which ones are real, but from a PR perspective, no better way than to control leaks than by leaking to those who pay money to thepeooke who leak. If Disney makes a deal with you to give you steady stream of leaks as long as you not only do not leak stuff they don't want, but you hand over the leakers, well a steady stream of leaks that turn out to be accurate will dona lit more for you than a few unauthorized leaks that were not ready.

Again, it's my humble oppinion the best leakers are authorized and are no more than strategic leakers working with Disney and Lucas Films.

If they're not doing this at Disney, they they don't know what they're doing--and considering who it us, well.

 

I'm starting to have huge doubts about all the KOR's scene on Ahch to.
I believe the only thing we can take for grant is that Kylo will be on the island, because Adam was spotted in Ireland.

But it could be any kind of scene. A vision included.

About the rest of knights, it looks like Jason is changing his mind.
And truth to be told, when he first reported about that scene, he put together few things he saw (some pictures, later on videos),
and what he's been told.
Now, in the last few weeks he started to say it is impossible to say how many people caught on pictures and videos were characters and how many of them were just staff memebers.
Until this in the last poadcast:

What if what he was told about (all the scene of the fight) wasn't so accurated?

Same for the fight vs the see monster.
If it is like the one we've seen here, I agree that creature won't fight. The shape at least isn't the best one for a fighting creature....

about other creatures on the island.
The nuns, the guardinas, etc.....

What if all that sequence (the fight I mean) it's just... something else and whoever was there when they were shooting was simply wrong?

 

That sea creature might be like a walrus with long arms. I would not bet it couldn't fight. I mean who would pick hippos in a fight?

 

Hippos are the most deadly animals to humans. They kill more humans every year than any other mammal LOL

 

Lol that's my point. Someone didn't think the sea creature looked like a fighter. My question was rhetorical thinking we all knew hippos were deadly.

 

This has been my position as well, though, strangely, the SW Leaks sub hasn't given that viee a lot of upvotes. They probably think Jason would know of the Guards were the KoR, but I think he's just speculating that they aren't there. Considering both these guards and the KoR are all unique characters with unique armor and weapons, it makes the most sense not that the Knights have been abandoned (ot left for IX), but that the Guards are the KoR under snoke: promoted, and fitted with superior armor and weapons.

I think that's a good observation. They do seem related, though they act as guardians for their respective sides of the Force in different ways, obviously.

 

Yeah they're ptobably just a fancy/elite version of the knights of ren.

 

I mean, it makes sense they'd be given a sort of promotion, right? They were more ragtag, more like travelling knights (Aragorn-esque, even), in Rey's vision, which I believe was in the past, so after destroying most of the Jedi, Snoke was probably pretty happy with them.
