    One of the first things I ever posted on this site was that Rey's saber fighting style was very similar to Palpatine's. I got shot down.

    She indeed fights very similar to Palpatine. She can be seen trying to impale Kylo on her saber in the same way that Sheev impaled Agen Kolar yet this can be due to Rey not knowing how to fight with a sword type weapon as her known fighting style is with a blunt staff weapon.

    It's that gleeful stabbing thrusting motion. Seems like the only purpose of that move is to kill. She also raised the saber over her head in a manner similar to Palpatine if I remember correctly. I could be wrong, but when I was watching the movie, it definitely jumped out at me immediately.
