    It's Rey. Yeah her name is Rey Rey. It's what eventually drives her to the dark side. She goes through the movie and people keep calling her Rey Rey. Which, you know, makes her angry. "Please stop calling me Rey Rey." "But it's your name." "I know I just don't like it, could you just call me Rey?" This goes on and on and she gets more and more irritated until the last scene where Luke shows up and is all dramatic, and Rey looks up at him and says, "Luke?" and Luke shouts "Rey Rey!" and she goes dark side right there.

    Rey fits the same idea as Nomi Sunrider who defeated a Sith Dark Lord Exar Kun (which has a similar sound and feel to Kylo Ren) who incidentally was into sith artifacts and had an undead Sith master. Centuries later Exar Kun came back and fought Luke Skywalker and possessed some of his students.

    They aren't retelling EU stories but they are borrowing, mashing and reworking.
