Rey Solo

One thing from the trailer for sure, it gave nothing away for Reys heritage, all bets are still on... its infuriating lol.

 

This gorgeous man here, Ben.

He gives hand to Rey at the end I am sure.

But I do not see the desire in his eyes for her, not in a way man want a woman.

I see love though but in a way of compassion, and understanding, and the kinship of the soul.

 

A great deal of "speculation" going on here, so I am going to throw my own speculation into the ring.....Just to jump right into the main story, I believe somehow Snoke will Rey started down a dark path as he did with Ben. Kylo will feel betrayed by Snoke for taking another apprentice. Snoke and the First Order, will trap and kill Leia to push Kylo back into darkness. It backfires and pushes Ben back to the light. Rey goes dark/Kylo goes light. Ben reaches out for help to save Rey from Snoke and the hand he reaches for (at the end of the trailer) is Luke's.

 

MATE, THIS IS ALL A GOOD LAUGH, BUT I SWEAR IF YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THIS... IM GONNA SHOUT YOUR NAME IN THE CINEMA!!!!

Trailer-

Snoke talks of raw power he found in Kylo, but than he says there was even more.

Luke talks of raw power he see in Rey, and" fears" of it, and says that he sough same power before, which means while training Ben .

Luke fears that power as he obviously can't control it.

Snoke , opposite , desires this power, to control it, use it.

Rey has been dumped on Jakku to save her from Snoke, to deny him to use her's power to.

Snoke tells to captured Rey: fulfill your destiny, which I think means, whoever tried to hide you failed, you didn't escaped your destiny to be mine.

I agree that it appears that Kylo and Rey both have raw power but that doesn't prove anything. It doesn't confirm they are family. As much as want her to be a Solo.

The push of the story looks to me to be Kylo was the great hope of the OT heroes and grew to be entitled by their hope he through manipulation or anger has turned to the darkside. The Force has chosen Rey. When the Cosmic Force woke it woke in her. She's the true heir of destiny and might be completely unrelated to anyone but her awol parents.

 

Results of trailer 2 on different Rey theories:

1.Luke's daughter theory is - over.

2. Rey random character theory got haevy blow-Rey says she had inherited dormant force powers activated in particular moment.This implies she was hidden.

2.ReyLo theory holds.(to sweet to get Diabetes of it, and to Disney , but I could live with it).

3. Rey Solo theory got boost , bacuse out of all kind of "esoteric" explanations what would be that "mysterious link" between Rey and Kylo (this link now becomes apparent), Rey Solo theory is the only one that gives conventional explanation, they are brother and sister.

 

Do her powers really scare Luke? I mean he has seen the best and got his arse kicked by the best of them who had great power; Vader and Palps.

But then again Rian Johnson had a kid on Looper who even his own mother was scared of when he let loose of his power.

I'm pretty convinced now that Rey is a former apprentice of Snoke, Solo or not.

 

What if this...Ben was originally going to be Snoke's "apprentice" but Snoke later discovered Rey (maybe by a different name) and Ben got angry and had her "killed" so Snoke would pay more attention to him. That's why Kylo says "what girl"...he thought she was taken care of, maybe by the KOR and now to hear that she's back is a blow to him. Now, Kylo knows Snoke can sense the pull to the light and that his standing with Snoke is slipping and realizing that killing Han didn't do it, he'll either kill Leia or realize that he made a tragic mistake and needs to do everything he can to stop Snoke before Leia and/or Ben are killed.

 

Storytelling-wise, revealing Rey as a Solo was a revelation tailor-made for TFA. As a writer, your goal is to create drama. So why would you possibly pass on all these juicy storylines:

• Rey reuniting with her father.
• Rey being captured and tortured by her own brother.
• Rey being rescued by her father.
• Rey witnessing the death of her father at her brother's hand.
• Rey fighting her brother.
• Rey reuniting with her mother.

I just don't see the storytelling value in saving a Rey-is-a-Solo reveal for TLJ. It would retroactively weaken TFA, rendering it a story with a lengthy list of missed dramatic moments for its central hero.

 

Abrams questioned if big twists like Vader-as-Luke's-dad would have worked if it was in the first Star Wars. Twists rely on delay and years of development in his view for Star Wars.

Don't make it a twist. Just make a good bloody story!

 

We clearly see in the trailer that Leia felt her son and he felt Leia too as he felt Solo on StarKiller and Leia felt Han's death.
Nothing of that happens with Rey.

 

The trailer is misleading. TFA's trailer was misleading. Rogue One's trailer was misleading. Look at the people nonchalantly walking around behind Leia. It's from two different film segments. There's a lot of that going on in the trailer.
