    Rose serves as a technician in the Resistance. She is tough, smart, and loyal, but she has a tragic past that she prefers to keep hidden. Thrown together by a twist of fate, Rose and Finn will be spending a lot of time in each other’s company.

    What if her tragic past is that her grandfather was a rebel who was killed on Scariff aka Chirrut Imwe.

    Haha very funny!

    I think it would be an excellent turning point in TLJ for Finn's story, and his slowly evolving relationship with Rose, if she suddenly found out he was a former Stormtrooper, unless she already knows he turned and she admires him for that.

    I don't want her to be related to Chirrut, but I wouldn't mind if she were a descendant of one of the other Guardians of the Whills who left when the Temple of the Kyber was closed or one of the children Chirrut and Baze sent to safety in the Guardians of the Whills novel.

    There should be some link between characters from the past to the present, even if not by blood. The Skywalkers cant be the only people who get that privilege despite all the messes they make while others fall by the wayside or are forgotten.

    She need not be connected to Luke's story (I would hate everything to link back to the Skywalkers).....it could just be a nod to Rogue One, something they could explore in more detail in a comic or novel. its nice to know that at least some people from Jedah survived.

    Very true, but I meant Luke's story in TLJ and his book and talk about the balance. If she was related to the guardians it would kind of fit with tying everyone's paths together.

    Actually they are twins and kiss in episode 8. (and there you have your unconventional romance where light meets dark)....and they'll have a grey BB droid baby for the next trilogy.
