SPECULATION Sarah Michelle Gellar joining the Rebels Cast - Who will she Voice?

I want to say Barriss Offee, if Meredith Salenger is unavailable. Although she was at the Rebels premiere a few months back, so who knows?

 

Well that kind of indicates Salenger will be Barriss in Rebels.

The voice actress who did Mon Mothma in TCW has already done some work on season 1 of Rebels, so I'm guessing if we see Mon Mothma she'll have the part.
My guess is Gellar is playing Evaan.

I'm guessing she's Leia's age, possibly a couple of years older. Sabine and Ezra are young, too.

Gotcha. I thought that too, but Meredith Salenger was like 35 when she voiced a 19 year old Barriss Offee. Depends on the voice, I guess.

 

A rebel cell coalition with Bail Organa very much involved. Evaan is Alderaanian, was a student of Bail's wife, and in roughly 5 years a member of the Rebel Alliance, serving with Leia. Also, somebody's got to be on the ships that rescued the Ghost crew. Those weren't one-man ships engaging 4 star destroyers.
Sure it's a stretch, but aren't they all at this point?

 

On that note, wouldn't it be nice if Rebels had an episode or two set on Alderaan? We've only caught brief glimpses of it in the films and shows. Would be nice.

I'm not sure why she would voice a young black girl, but whatever.

Also, I know many people would sell their left testicle (or ovary) to get a "Mara Jade" in the canon, but at this point, season 2, we are maybe 4 years away from ANH, so Luke and Leia and Ezra for that matter, are only like...15....so if you want "Mara Jade" to show up in this, how old do you expect her to be?

I ask that because, if she's in that same age range, do you REALLY expect her to be an inquisitor? People were already foaming at the mouth when 16 year old Sabine is considered a weapons and explosives expert, despite coming for the highly militant culture of the Mandalorians.

Is she going to be older? Early to mid-20s? That would put a 5-10 year age difference between her and Luke.

And once again, where was she during the OT?

Finally, I mention that Lucas said that the direction the old EU took Luke isn't what he would have done, specifically mentioning him getting married, and Filoni is pretty in touch with Lucas' thoughts on things.

 

Fair point, if she's the same age as Luke, she'd be 14. Movies give us good precedent for young force enabled people being badass and Ahsoka was only 14 when the clone wars began. A Mara inquisitor was make a nice foil to Ezra and could be kind of a dark path version of Ahsoka.

I know it wasn't your intention, but damn, now I want her even more.

 

There are so many good points all around for various characters. It really could be any. I'm gonna go with the Inquisitor option. We know that Vader will be used sparingly and have hints that he will be in contact with an Inquisitor(s) ... seems like a good move to get SMG to play an umpirtant role.

Most people remember her for playing a hero on Buffy, but she can play a villain too. She was quite devious in Cruel Intentions.

 

Star Wars Underworld reported that she will play Aileen Zhan, Mara Jade homage character in New Canon.
