When Shadows of the Empire appeared in 1996 I was so excited. First I saw the TV ad for the N64 game, my jaw dropped and went and bought an N64 with SOTE as soon as it came out. I loved that game!!!

I then bought the audio book (cassette) to listed on a long bus journey and it expanded on what is a fantastic story set between TESB and ROTJ.

With Dash Rendar's "Outrider" ship already cannon in the SE ANH it would be great to see a SOTE animated series.

Well with the direction star-wars is headed in it seems logical that there is a slight chance we may see it come to fruition in the future. Not an unrealistic thought at all IMHO. To be honest though I've never read it.

    I'd highly recommend it!

I've only read a few of the EU books but Shdows of the Empire is brilliant. As much as I'd love to see this live action, recasting our heroes from the OT would be a push so I'd be more than happy with an animated series. As this was a multi media project for Lucasfilm in the 90's, I don't see why this couldn't be done.

Have you heard the recasting rumors for Luke and Leia in the Filoni movie?

I read the TZ trilogy and it was/is wonderful. I will definitely look into the SOTE audio book. I love Thrawn. I can't BELIEVE we're getting him in live action! I'm definitely on a star wars high.

BTW the "outrider" is looking pretty dangerous with those double gun turrets. It looks like it could whoop some butt and be pretty exciting in live action. I know the pic above is simply a rendition but those solid lasers place me in the mind of the Fondor Haulcraft. It would be way too trekkie if it's main weapons we're solid lasers. Luthen's solid red laser beam feature is pushing the envelope IMO but I think it works, one because it's not the primary weapon so we don't/or probably won't get to see it in use too often so it's not overbearing or an unspoken cannon game changer. It's used as a back-up and fortunately quite sparingly.

I have Heir to the Empire & Dark Force Rising Audiobooks on cassette, bought them in the 90's but never did get round to getting The Last Command. I'll need to get the full Thrawn trilogy digitally. I also can't wait to see live action Thrawn!

I've loved the look of the Outrider since SOTE and I thought it was so cool to have a more modern YT Series ship, it's definitely one of my favourite ships!! In the N64/PC game you play as the main character Dash Rendar, captain of the Outrider and you get to fly this cool ship as you can see in the N64 TV ad in my original post. I have a model of it from the X-Wing series board game, never played the game but their models are great. I have it sat next to my X-Wing series Millennium Falcon collection.
