I am fine with my normal prequel films in their original release. A 1080p release is fine as is and as awesome as 4k would be, the market just still is lagging for it to be completely profitable for everyone.

I'll be glad when the phrase "already a thing" is no longer in use.

Exactly. 4k looks very nice but it's hardly necessary.

I don't really think they require SEing. And, I severely doubt Disney will go back on the PT. I believe they will concentrate on moving the saga forward with their own stories and direction. (Unless they SE the PT and make actual additions and retcons that are pertinent to the ST - the project that is their focus).

I think a Star Wars Story based around the time of the PT is all we'll get, but that won't be for a while either.

I voted no for the Special Edition it terms of adding scenes like they did with the OT. I wouldn't be against Lucasfilm remastering the CGI as the Prequels are not aging that well compared with today's CGI.

Yes. It's about that time that Lucas(film) stuck their fingers in something a generation of people love and cherish.

    As is tradition.

I just watched "Attack of the Clones" recently. I saw no hint of the CGI aging badly. But if you want the special effects remastered . .. fine.

Compared to todays GCI I think it's starting to look dated, it is 15 years old after all. CGI although groundbreaking when a film is released will eventually look dated with the fast advancements in digital technology.

My view is that as the bulk of the PT is CGI, if they were going to do anything I'd rather they improved the visuals rather than adding scenes and making changes to the story.

I would watch Special Edition prequels, if they take out Jar Jar and replace him with Alf. I'd watch that.

I for one think the right person or people for the job could do wonders for the prequels. I would like a complete recut of the movie and make changes to some of the story. Minimise Jar Jar as much as possible,
redo pretty much all of the cgi, stuff like that. They could make it look so much better now. It will never happen to the extent I'd like it to. Lucas would never allow it. It must be part of the contract when he signed the rights over to Disney. " No one under any circumstances must touch my precious movies you filthy corporate scumbags". Or words to that effect.

Yup I feel the same way, just improve the overall look of the movies.

Chances are small, maybe under Lucas supervision.

I personally dont need it, but if they remaster some of the cgi which was groundbreaking back then, but now slowly start to look dated, I am fine with it.

Not all special editions are bad. George was just experimenting with them at a time when he really shouldn't have been, with beloved films that he probably should have left alone.

I don't think I'd want any new scenes shot (at least, not anything extensive) but it might be cool to have the deleted scenes integrated in

Other than adding scenes that initially got scrapped, I just can't imagine how it could be "enhanced" like the OT was, but I wouldn't mind seeing what they added/changed, if they did.

Personally, I never regarded the OT Special Editions were bad. I prefer to watch them over the original 1977-83 versions.

True, I think some changes were quite welcome, actually.

But the judgement wasn't all great. The extra weird musical number in Jabba's Palace sticks out as something that probably shouldn't have been done.

I voted yes. While I'm neutral on the special editions in general I think the prequels could benefit from some upgrades to the CGI that doesn't hold up as much any more. But more importantly, the quality of Episode 2 in general and the strange blue tint from the blurays really needs some fixing I think is entirely possible. Otherwise I don't think they would gain too much from changes.
