I'm quite angry someone had an opinion that differed from mine.

That he disliked the prequels is "fine", even tho I disagree.

    But this was too harsh.

Simon takes his Star Wars and Star Trek very seriously.
He was probably just hyped up and let loose.

Yeah, plus, even though Disney didn't make the prequels, it does kinda feel like he's biting hand that feeds him after he was involved in TFA...

then that would mean that disney is biting their own hands because even they seemingly hate the rpequels .

Obviously, Disney's going in a different direction than the prequels did, but they've included prequel stuff in their canon, including in Rogue One. That's a far cry from the things Simon Pegg has said.

it's because theyre forced to use teh prequels especially since R1 is a prequel in itself. With Disney's rejection of the prequels as a whole, it shows that people like simon pegg can use their influence to say what they will.

    lol thats wrong

R1 wasnt marketed as a prequel and Disney does not reject the prequels lmao.

edit: And I think he shouldn't have said that, its just disrespectful especially if you are part of the frachise (kinda). I hope somebody from LFL told him that.

He wasn' t part of yet it when he said it though. Pegg feels part of the OT and the post-Lucas era, I guess. I think it's natural that upon the expansion (especially in this magnitude) of a story some of the new aspects might going to be rejected. He was probabaly told not to voice his PT hatred too loud in the future though. However, imo it's repectable that someone at least dares to speak up for his opinion in Hollywood.

Pegg is that perfect age for the PT to have been a complete whiff for him too.

Why should anyone care about how Simon Pegg feels about the Prequel movies or any other movie for that matter?

because he is good friends with JJ Abrams which is most likely why he got his role in TFA so he would have some sort of insight to star wars so people would take his opinions more seriously than most other actors and fans

    Yes it was.

And yes, since Disney bought Lucasfilm the focus has shifted drastically away from the PT era.

You don't have to be "of a certain age" for the PT to be a whiff.

You can disagree but you'd be wrong.

Before lucasfilm was sold almost all their attention was on the PT era.

Since the sale - all but 1 book has been set in the OT or later (granted Ahsoka was a PT era character, but in the OT era). The tv series in the PT era was canceled and replaced with one much closer to the OT era. All of Fantasy Flights projects have been exclusively OT era or later themed (I think Destinies finally had some PT era stuff). All the comic books, except for 1 min.series, have been OT era. The 2 video games we've gotten have been exclusives OT and St era. "Star Wars Land" specifically is designed to be placed after RotJ and will feat OT and ST elements.

Yeah ok if you say so.
We know her since childhood of course since her story moves on and er get closer to the OT.
That had many budget issues and was already dead before the sale to Disney.
FF was working with the Licensing deaprtment but was never under helm of LFL. Their choice.
Sons of Dathomir was the first canon comic.
Yeah in the ST era it makes sense you can't make films and then pull stufff out that was 50 years prior. Not sure if you remember but look at the releases in the Prequel years. they too were closer to this era the movies actually cover (Clone Wars for example).

Oh, so you mean they've shifted focus to the OT and ST era?
