A great plot twist would be at the very end with onlyLuke, Kylo and Rey remaining, that Kylo convinces Rey to come to the dark side and destroys Luke in the process.

The opposite of Vader being redeemed. This time the Dark Side wins and Kylo and Rey rule the galaxy.

The plot twist I'd really like to see is Kylo being not just outright evil, his actions somewhat justified. It seams as such an appealing story concept to me. Actually now that I think about it, I'll make a separate thread. :p

As for your idea, that could be an interesting way to end things but I doubt Disney would have the guts to do something like that.

For the last Harry Potter, I always imagined Harry Potter getting killed on a toilet in Caracas by a Mexican drug dealer, with the latter saying "Ey Magic dunno work in da real world compadre". There is still hope.......

I'd like it better if Kylo wasn't this emo whimpering little puss bag and stands up. Stop being torn by your feelings and be who you want to be.

I don't think I could handle the extinction of the Jedi. Though I suppose, even if all the Sith and Jedi were extinct, there would still be Force sensitives and even users around. Since it seems quite easy to take the quick path to power, and the dark side being the seductive wench it is, especially when good training is absent, would it be reasonable to think darksiders could cause a lot of trouble, and lightsiders would be far and few between and hardpressed to deal with them?

Could this even precipitate non Force sensitives fearing Force sensitives and their ability to create widespread havoc? Perhaps it could go so far as to the general population wanting to manage or wipe out Force users, a la Xmen style? I shudder at the thought, but it could make an interesting story.

New systems of training would eventually arise in the absence of the Jedi and the Sith, after troubled times of experimentation. How different these systems may be to the original iterations of the dark and Light side Force users, we can only speculate...

This thread is making my head hurt.

I would really love it if Kylo Ren turned out to be an awesome bad guy that was so evil that he didn't want to be redeemed. One of the things I dislike about this new trilogy is that it mirrors the OT too much without giving us anything new yet with two more movies to go I still think it still has hope. While I still fear that they are going to carbon copy the OT, I still haven't given up that there are going to be quite a few surprises that may knock our socks off. Instead of having the next movie be darker and focus on Rey training but unable to beat Kylo just so that the next one she can get better, redeem Kylo and beat Snoke, I would love it if the story took some unexpected turns. Kylo sucked in TFA because he was just a crybaby Vader wannabe but imagine him as a real evil infused Sith or Dark Side user that would dare do things that even Vader did not? Even more surprising would be to have Kylo reach a point were he was the one to kill Snoke but not out of being good but by taking his place as the leader of the First Order. That would rock and not give us a rehash of Vader's redemption all over again.
