SPECULATION Space opening/Rey-Luke

Agree.. Also it would be great if the first thing we see after the crawl would be Ahch To.. Kinda of a new way of opening instead of an spaceship opening. Or here is an crazy idea, how about the crawl taking place over Ahch To instead of in space ??

 

I can guarantee there would be riots in the streets.

As Rey goes to find Luke Skywalker on the mysterious planet, Ahch-To, The evil FIRST ORDER regroups in the UNKNOWN REGIONS of space to plan their counter attack against the RESISTANCE.

Meanwhile, reeling from the destruction of their capital planet and entire fleet, the NEW REPUBLIC seeks to put a stop to the impending war at all costs and has sent a prominent Senator to meet General Leia at a secret location.

Kylo Ren, conflicted after his defeat in battle to Rey, has been ordered by SUPREME LEADER SNOKE to go on a secret mission, one that will complete his training and prevent the return of Luke Skywalker...

(It then begins before Rey has met Luke - I think this is actually necessary regardless of how TFA ended as we needed to known something about how the FO reacted after the destruction of the SK base and what Snoke decided to do with Ren).

Then...

PAN across the star field to the vast STAR DESTROYER, FINALIZER....blah blah blah

Kylo Ren is talking with General Hux:

REN: Has the location been confirmed?
HUX: Yes. Our man has the information. He tracked them from the Ileenium system without detection. They are there now.
REN: Then it is time...

(Basically, we're lead to think that Ren has found Luke and Rey but in fact his mission is to go after his mother, Leia).

CUT TO:

AHCH-TO. The Millennium Falcon sits on the rocks with Chewie and R2-D2, watching Rey from the bottom of the ramp...

Go back to the end of TFA and watch it play out from there. Rey meets Luke etc...

 

I would like to see Rey running down the steps she came up when she first found Luke, he then watches her from a nearby temple.

 

Talk about getting off of your butt. Leia being one of the last known force holders in the universe and she isn't even a Jedi? At least being a Jedi would have given her some elegance, wisdom, power and respect in the New Republic and instead decides to be a butch general?!

The Resistance won its biggest battle against the First Order, but losses were horrible. Now, the REPUBLIC has been destroyed, and both good and evil must crawl in the shadows, recovering forces to strike each other.

While Hux and Kylo Ren fly with the remains of their crashed fleet to SNOKE'S HIDDEN REFUGE , General Leia Organa has sent multiple distress messages to many Republic's outoposts around the galaxy. She must gather as much allies as she can, before a conflict for power begins.

Away from the rumbles of war, in the lonely planet of Ahch-To, the missing Jedi LUKE SKYWALKER has been found by a young scavenger, Rey. The fate of the galaxy is the hands of this brave heroine....

 

I think you will be right. Hux brings Kylo to Snoke as he asked him to.

 

Hey now. She was plenty powerful without being a Jedi. Why does everyone have to be one? Being a Jedi should be her choice, and she has the whole weirdness with dealing with Vader being her bio Dad. I don't think she was lazy. It sounds like there are plenty of force users too that are not Jedi. It's implied Maz can use the Force, though I think they took it out of the movie, it is kind of more in the novelization. They did do Leia a disservice a bit in the movie imo, but not by doing that, not making her a Jedi.

 

We also don't know exactly how much time passed between when Rey and the rest of the strike team returned to the Resistance base and when Rey set out again to Ach-To.

It was enough time to stabilize Finn and for everyone to change clothes...but how long did they sit around before R2 woke up with the missing map piece? How long did it take to refuel and refit the Falcon, etc.? Would it have been enough time for Hux to return Kylo Ren to Snoke, and then for Kylo Ren to take a quick dip in the Bacta before heading to Act-To also? Maybe Kylo Ren is either at Ach-To in defiance of Snoke, or finding Luke is actually completing his training...?

Watch it, now. Those are fighting words! Check out some of the new canon books (like Bloodline or Aftermath: Life Debt) for Leia's role in holding the galaxy together for years and years while Luke is away.

Maybe the wisest way for Leia was to become a Jedi but, she took the road less traveled. You don't need to be a Jedi to kick some butts. And maybe she was tapping into her unknown Force skills but see all that she did without becoming a Jedi.

 

Only if he's her father. That sounds like a shot you'd see in a film involving a family trip.

@Klai Kenobi Are you really calling Leia a lesbian? Because that's what you're implying when calling a female butch.

 

i think they'll skip this. next time we see Kylo Ren, he's going to be a changed man (and probably not for the better). but i do think we might find out what happened to him after the fact somehow (Force bond?). there's no strong narrative reason to show Ren undergo Snoke's training unless Snoke does something specifically to him that becomes critically relevant later on.

agreed! we're likely already had a time leap long enough to stabilize everybody. it seems unlikely they will waste precious story and action time on bacta tanks and finger-wagging conversations.

 

Hmm, opening crawl could read something like:

It is a dark time for the Resistance. Despite a heroic victory against the First Order, the New Republic world of Hosnian Prime, along with the New Republic fleet has been destroyed. The Resistance is forced in to hiding as General Leia Organa tries desperately to rally allies to prepare for a full assault by the First Order.

Following the loss of Starkiller Base, Supreme Leader Snoke has ordered th his apprentice Kylo Ren to his secret base in the Unknown Regions, hoping to eradicate the last remnants of Ben Solo.

Meanwhile on the watery world of Ahch-To, the location of the first Jedi Temple, Rey has finally tracked down his son, the last Jedi Luke Skywalker, the fate of the galaxy hinges on the next moments....

-Text fades to star field....

Pan down to see Ahch-To, a beautiful planet in the inky blackness of space, as the Falcon flies down, towards the planet.

Cut to Luke meditating in his home, he senses that Rey is here, he is conversing with Yoda and Obi-Wan who are seen briefly, and they tell him "it's time." Luke goes out to where they meet at the end of Episode 7 to wait for her.

He looks down and closes his eyes, knowing that the war has found him. And so has Rey.

He can sense Rey coming up behind him, and he turns around. Rey offers him the lightsaber.

Luke's first words are: "Why are you here?"

At this point Rey breaks down and weeps and explains everything...

<continue on to the film>

 

Not at all. Just saying she appears rough around the edges. She used to be a princess and I personally would have liked to see a more elegant, peace leader of the republic. Like Mon Mothma, but Jedi like. Picture her on a rebuilt council on Courscant. This would have partly filled the void of Luke missing and not getting to see his rebuilt Jedi Council which I've always really wanted to see on screen.

I'm looking forward to a quiet opening for about 20 seconds before Kylo's star destroyers appear to make their entrance the next day.

Pan down reveals C-3PO and R2 taking the Millenium Falcon for a joyride around Ach-to before returning to the island only to accidently hit the light speed switch as they re-enter the atmosphere, sending the Falcon to the bottom of the ocean and disintegrating into a billion pieces. Luke and Rey are then stranded forever until they die of old age in Episode XII and Episode XX, respectively.

 

I think we will see the Luke&Rey scene again, but out of perspective of Luke this time.

 

Off course him,her & the lightsaber will get their scene.
