SPECULATION Space opening/Rey-Luke

While it's been confirmed that Ep. VIII will start exactly where TFA ended, I don't think that necessarily means the film begins there. Just that it picks up there. I think we will see something that happens in space. I've heard a lot about how this will be the "darkest" film yet. I think a good way to establish that feeling early on would be to open with a scene of the First Order fleet really taking it to a retreating Resistance fleet. Something similar to the way the Star Destroyer was firing on the Tantive IV in ANH, but on a much larger scale. This doesn't have to be long, just enough to know that the Resistance is in deep poodoo... something like this, maybe?

Admiral Statura: "General Leia, we're taking heavy casualties. We've just lost the Liberty and the Nautilian. Gold Squadron is all but eliminated, our fighters don't stand a chance out there. We need to make the jump now."
Leia: "Give the order."
Leia turns away, head bowed in defeat. She closes her eyes and says something quietly to herself.
Leia: "We need you, Luke. Help us."

And then it cuts to Luke, on Ahch-To. He is meditating, and then opens his eyes and reacts with a pained look, as if he can hear Leia through the force. Then he sees the Falcon come out of lightspeed, and approach the island.

From there it picks up right where TFA ended. I dunno, just my humble take on it!
