    Hey I talked in general about the OT. Let it sink in lol (big fan of the Han-Leia story-arc, still grieving here lol). I am not saying the movie is bad, it is just a matter of appreciation. Of course I liked TFA, and maybe it's just that, nostalgia added effect. And I am not discrediting the new trilogy at all, I am more than excited about the upcoming episodes and the anthology movies to come. I have a very good feeling about this *sigh*

    Perhaps there was one of those convenient man sized chute slide thinges at the bottom of the pit like the one Luke slid down on Cloud City in Empire Strikes back.

    And we know that lightsabers seal the wound, so he wouldn't bleed out. Perhaps a friendly offworld contracted engineer on the Starkiller base was working down there and it was deep enough to be safe from the surface explosion.

    A long shot I know... but then again, I never bought the whole Luke chuteslide thingy in Empire Strikes Back either. Realistically, Luke should have died. :)

    Han's "fate" kinda left me feeling like there ought to have been a little more backstory to his relationship with his son. Maybe, tell us what kind of kid he was, or just the normal things a parent is going to say about a child who went off the reservation... Aside from a couple lines in passing, we didn't get much of that, and for being one of the major plot points of the story, I feel like there wasn't enough effort put into it.

    some people i know are really angry and upset about this (i think they need some serious grief counseling).

    i saw it coming and was resigned to it. what made it upsetting was how it happened--that final exchange between father and son and how whatever's left of Ben nearly breaks down right before he does it. that made me want to cry more than the death itself.

    it's all very Greek tragedy. i was very satisfied with where it landed emotionally.
