SPECULATION Spring Cleaning: Figuring out TFA by debunking "Spoilerbirds"

I'm still not entirely convinced bothanspi was a fake for the reasons I've already stated.

There's also something else bothanspi specifically said which makes me think he was the real deal: He said Leia has become "a little twisted in the head." It was on March 2nd, the same day he answered some questions on the forums, that he said this (see http://www.starwars7news.com/2015/0...orce-awakens-in-abu-dhabi.html#comment-371682). On March 4th, Jason Ward ran a story (see http://makingstarwars.net/2015/03/star-wars-the-force-awakens-all-about-leia-the-ultimate-weapons/) about Leia being "proud" of "The Sledgehammer" and how this pride seemed to indicate a kind of belligerence wholly uncharacteristic of her. He further speculated that Leia might represent the "moral ambiguity" George Lucas had been talking about in relation to the new trilogy.

So my question to everybody here is this: How did bothanspi seem to know about Leia's alleged derangement ahead of Jason?! Jason even went so far as to deny that Leia was "twisted" on March 2nd (see http://thecantina.starwars7news.com/index.php?threads/bothanspi-leaks.1952/page-5#post-54198) but then changed his tune in the article above. How was it that bothanspi had this figured out first?

Jason's denial that Finn is Lando's son reminds me of something else: Mizzlewump, who reported several accurate things about the movie long before anybody else, said one of the main characters was Lando's child (see http://www.latino-review.com/news/star-wars-mizzlewumps-and-rumors). In the draft he read, the stormtrooper and the character related to Lando were two different people. However, is it possible they chose to combine the two characters after casting a black actor in the stormtrooper role? A lot of things bothanspi says actually seem to add up pretty well.

The number one rule for debunking "spoilerbirds"—if you have "spoiler" in the name you post under, then you are a "spoilerbird." That seems to be a pretty consistent pattern. It's kind of like when a used car salesman calls himself "Honest Eddie."

The "floating hand" rumor sounds so similar to a lot of the stuff Jason Ward is currently reporting that I imagine there must be some grain of truth to it. Is it possible the floating hand appeared in a preliminary draft of the script and then was later adjusted in the final draft to just the lightsaber by itself?

 

The problem is that even Jason's sources could be wrong also. This rumor has been around for a while.

I know some people claim this is the McMcuffin that drives the plot of the Ep. VII. But there hasn't been any concrete evidence to back it up.

There is no hard evidence to support anything other than what has been seen in the teaser.

 

Jason Ward's sources have a good track record, but of course, we won't know anything for sure until we start getting official confirmations of things.
