Oh man somebody messed him up pretty good.

 

A new poster for "your fraud list" to add: TheGreatDarkOne with his "REAL Star Wars the force awakens" thread.
He mixed just the old puzzle together and states it's new and that he is the real deal like twenty-five other hoaxers.
I have nothing against it, but it gets really old and very fast.

 

No please don't get me wrong I would never create a witch hunt or participate in one.
I don't said he is wrong, he mixed the right ingredients up, some speculated rumors that could appear to be true.
But I don't buy it that MvS is Kanan from rebels, this smells fishy.

 

This is was I thought to myself today, he will be a new character, If not it would surprise me.
The first time I heard that MvS got casted I thought he would play the force ghost of Obi Wan Kenobi.

 

Has it been confirmed that bothanspi was a fake? Or do we not yet know either way? He seemed unusually polite for a fake leaker and never missed a beat in answering people's questions. Typically, the fake ones are kind of arrogant and act as if they're above everybody else because they're "insiders." He also appeared to be unfamiliar with MSW's shocking Han Solo rumor, something I found most striking since fake leakers often have a tendency toward rumor hoarding. Another thing about him which intrigues me is that he knew the term "b-roll," a fact which implies him to possess a greater than normal level of familiarity with the lexicon of film production. Of course, there are still always going to be exceptions to these very general observations. He could be a fake with a winning personality and some knowledge of how movies are made.

I've been a little out of the loop lately, so forgive me if his authenticity was already definitively addressed elsewhere.

Could you please clarify what you mean in saying that?

 

Im just saying all leakers rumors are going to receive mixed views on what they post, I myself am not concerned about what he or MSW post the facts will be laid out when TFA will be released on 18/12/15.

 

Maybe he owns both usernames & I think he would lose the conversation with you.

 

His profile says he hasn't logged in since March 2nd. Is it possible he didn't see your conversation request? I don't know; my gut keeps telling me there was something a little different about him for the reasons I enumerated above. I'm not just talking about his outstandingly polite demeanor but also his knowledge of film lingo and his apparent lack of familiarity with some of the big rumors that have been making the rounds. Of course, as I've already conceded, I could be wrong.

I was also hoping there was something to him because if he's for real, his claims would debunk the "Luke cameo" theory, which has been driving most of the members of this forum up a wall since Jason Ward first presented it. Everyone has long been expecting Luke to wipe the floor with all the bad guys in the grand finale. Finn and Rey can save the day in the sequels. Viral, what's your stance on the theory at present?

Edit: I just looked over some of the Spoiler-Babe posts, and while this person was less obnoxious than some of the other fakes, they did get a little defensive at one point, telling someone who challenged them to "get off [their] back" and that they "should be happy [they] cared enough to change [the error in question]." I didn't really see any sort of defensiveness in bothanspi's posts. In fact, there is a kind of warmth in the tone of voice he uses in all of what he's written on this site. Spoiler-Babe also acted like they knew everything about everything, whereas bothanspi limited himself to stuff he claimed was filmed at Pinewood. And as I stated before, bothanspi appeared to be ignorant of some of the gossip going around about The Force Awakens, which is very uncharacteristic of how a fake leaker operates. The posters who fake their leaks always seem to me to be the kind of people who go to read up on everything they can get their hands on. They're the type of people who know the name of the nephew of some guy who appears in the background of some obscure Star Wars comic from twenty years ago.

I think bothanspi ignored your conversation request because he basically logged on, answered a few questions, and then never came back after that. He had been asked to make an account for the message boards after posting some comments on the main blog; he didn't come here on his own. He probably didn't really have all that much interest in participating in the forums to begin with. He shared what he had to offer, and that was that. Still, you could be right in your suspicions and I could be wrong, but I feel it premature to dismiss him completely at this point.

 

What was your test question?

I think a few people wanted to dismiss him because some guy with a similar name on the Jedi Council forums posted an obviously fake picture, but that poster could have just been an impersonator. Was it this picture that Voxx found? From what I understand, there's no proof the poster on Jedi Council and our bothanspi are the same individual, but perhaps I'm just missing something.
