    I've had a chance to play several games of Skirmish and I'm happy to report that it's a good start for the fans of this game that want more offline content. Definitely reminiscent of the Instant Action mode from previous Battlefront games. It won't ultimately have all that much replay value on its own, but playing split screen with your buddy is where it will really shine.

    According to DICE it's something of a work in progress, however how much they'll add to it into the future will be heavily reliant on its popularity.

    Yeah, I saw that. Thus far it seems to be getting a good reaction from the community. Very barebones of course, but it shows they are listening to the fans. To really take off it will need more UI updates like the option to set up your own playlist like in previous Battlefront games as well as more modes of course. Eventually having all the maps(including DLC maps) would also be great. Hopefully enough fans react positively enough to make it worthwhile for Dice to make it more robust.

    From what I understand there's something of a non-developmental issue surrounding the addition of DLC maps to skirmish, which is why they weren't added from the get-go. Most likely it'll be sorted at a later date, hopefully early enough to where as the next two expansions are added to the standard multiplayer, they'll be available for offline play as well.

    As much as I adore the DLC's (especially Bespin), I'll be very disappointed if Battlefront 2 has a similar set up in terms of Paying for a Season Pass etc.

    I feel like DICE had an amazing opportunity for a cult video game that would have a dedicated fan base... I can't help but feel like they blew it. I really enjoy this game but the main reason that it's still playable is the DLC's - and that's because I bought the season pass because if it has 'Star Wars' on it then I'm buying it.

    All the whine and hate towards this game is making me feel nauseous. It is not as bad as people make it out to be, it is actually a very solid product right now that in my opinion is better than the old battlefront titles (yes, I said that and I played battlefront 1 and 2 for hundreds of hours and enjoyed them immensely back in the day). If you claim battlefront 2 is better than DICE's battlefront in its current state than I am sorry but you are just clueless, letting nostalgia take a hold of you.

    Or... Maybe you are a fan who really enjoyed the split screen aspect of the games with your buddies on the couch. That's really the one area where the game disappointed at launch, although the inclusion of Skirmish goes a long way towards making up for that at this point. I agree that it does exceed the quality of the prior games in the multiplayer department though. Also, while it's not perfect, the quality of the flight in this game far exceeds previous games in the series.

    That leaked gameplay looks awesome! Finally space battles. I haven't played this game in a long time. Once this DLC gets released, will probably pick it up again :D
