Star Wars: Battlefront

Weren't we supposed to have some new DLC by now? Did I miss something? February is almost over.

 

I've had Battlefront for a couple of months now (price drop during TFA's opening weekend), and I honestly never got all that into it. I still pick it up for 15 minutes or so of starfighter combat a couple times a week, but without any sort of single-player campaign mode, it's basically what its critics dismissed it to be from the get-go - an absolutely beautiful but frustratingly shallow gaming experience.

Kudos to the game designers for making these completely brilliant digital models of the actual props and costumes and models from the LFL archives. I'm praying that EA has the rights to use these digital models in future Star Wars games that actually feature, y'know, a story. If they come up with a solid GTA or Skyrim type sandbox RPG that looks like this, I'm all over it.

But sadly, I think I've spent all the money I'm going to spend on Battlefront. It's just too much like having a sweet candy coating around a ball of air.

I agree 100%. The only gameplay I do online (PS4) is one mode (Fighter Squadron) of one game (Battlefront). So I'm paying ~$5 a month just to play an hour or two a week. I really wish there was an offline mode to Fighter Squadron, as well as a single player offline campaign. Coming from the N64/PS1 era, I like having a gameplay experience isolated from the outside world, it enhances the immersion. But I guess the future of gameplay is moving towards all online/all connected/all the time.

The offline Missions / Battles / Survival are awesome. The only thing I don't like about the Battles though, is having to collect the tokens after killing an enemy, kind of defeats the purpose of long-range combat; fortunately the Survival mode doesn't have that. But all in all I think the positive aspects of the game far outweigh the negative.

 

I changed my PC and Battlefront doesn't run no more

Problem with 32 and 64 bits, I can't fix it.

 

Well, same as some people, I only play Fighter Squadron for once a month... This game really is bad.
No single player and the online play is huge uncooperated mess. Props for visuals and sound tough, it makes nice sightseeing simulation for SW fan and that is all the game has acomplished. Now I wonder how much money I will get back for the game

SOMY is working very closely with Lucasfilm, Ltd. in bringing a virtual experience to Battlefront players on The PS4 at some point after its launch on October 30th, 2016 although some stores have it listed at 10/31/2016...Star Wars games have sold more than 5 million copies and this could help to put it over other competitors .

Personally, I love Battlefront. I know it's seriously lacking singleplayer options but as a Online Star Wars FPS... it's amazing. It does what it says on the cover. I love playing it with my friends online and on Co-Op missions with my girlfriend. The visuals make the experience so.. Star Wars!

However, my biggest annoyance is the Season Pass (which of course I have). I resent the cost of this game... I truly believe it should all be open and free and that this would make up for the lack of Single Player.*
On the plus side, I'm looking forward to playing as Lando on Cloud City!

*and by that I mean the DLC and whole expansion should be free not the whole game.

 

Star Wars Galaxy in Turmoil has been greenlit for Steam....

 

I absolutely dislike this game. It's been a long time since I bought a game.. played it for about 6 hours and never touched it again. I bought it for the PS4 at launch.

 

lol same here...what's ridiculous is that because of the beta testers or whoever else, I only ever get in literally 3 seconds of play time before being shot.
