This is the nice thing about having a head canon. You can include/exclude what you want, keeping your personal experience enjoyable.

Also I do agree with @Grand Admiral Kraum that TRoS is really underrated. Wasn't the best in the series, it has its issues, but it's still a pretty fun ride.

The entire Sequel Trilogy is Star Wars Canon.

You don't get to pretend otherwise just because you don't like certain aspects of it.

 

But sometimes you can ignore some facts and just give up of watching some of the movies.
I ignore complety the midiclorians and I'm glad that they were not mentioned in the ST (at least I don't remember).
Same with the force ghost of young Anakin in the end of ROTJ. I gnore this version and I prefer to rewatch the original.

"Headcanon" is not a conceptual excuse to "ignore stuff one doesn't like", but a means to enrich what is actually Canon by supplementing it and/ or helping to rationalize and explain discrepancies within it.

You want to pretend the PT never happened? You’re allowed to do that. You want to pretend the ST never happened? You’re allowed to do that. You want to pretend the entirety of the Star Wars saga is merely the wild fever dream of Indiana Jones while under mind control in Temple of Doom. You’re allowed to do that too. It’s your brain. It belongs to you and you alone. Nobody gets to tell you “that’s not how it works”. It works however you want it to. It’s yours.

 

I got news for you. Rocky 5, Superman 3 & 4, Godfather 3, and any Terminator movie after T2 doesn’t exist in my world,

 

Especially Superman 3 and 4!!

 

I'm all for people having their head canon but what I have issue is when people start stating their head canon as a fact (generally speaking)

 

I am making a new word
hëädcänön- Replacing "canon" with something else.
Example- Cutting out the ST and making Luke an evil dictator after ROTJ.

You don't have to like the ST, but it exists as Canon regardless, and there's nothing you can do to change that fact.
