    I debated putting this in the "concept art" thread... but its not art, its photos, and that thread has played so long that I wasn't sure it was "fresh" enough to be monitored by everyone...

    So without further ado... MakingStarWars had quite a scoop today. While there has been discussion about this scene being filmed, they scored some tasty photos. Some are blurry, some are at a distance, but.. here we go

    Followup... another stormtrooper post on MakingStarWars

    I brought this up couple days ago when the twitter of Lupita showed (for the second time) the doll of Han in stormtrooper disguise... I mentioned then that Boyega had been spotted with the same one...

    Everyone took the Boyega one to mean he was a stormtrooper... the Lupita one was the green tooth one... but I said then that we need to focus less on who it was that was holding them, and more on the idea that not everyone wearing a stormtrooper outfit is a stormtrooper...

    Yes, I admit I said not too look too far into it being Han in the suit, but I did point to the dressup and not who was holding them... turns out it may very well be him after all, and so much the better...

    The first one, he is kinda blurry (it's a blown up shot) but about dead center on the left... in the second shot, you gotta click to view it full size, pretty much dead center...

    Well, I see the white splotches. Just very difficult to tell their supposed to be stormtroopers. IMO it looks like somone used photoshop and drew them on the pics. It looks completely un-natural.

    In the concept art, doesn't appear that Han is wearing the trooper outfit, so this is probably on the way out of whatever they got into

    couldn't speak to that, someone better at photoshop than I am can take a look and see if there is any unusual pixelation around the trooper... I have to assume MakingStarWars vetted them, they don't often post images (they didn't post any of the concept art before others did)

    One thing that makes me think it might be is the fact that there are several shots that are just, "hey, this is stuff sitting around", and if they were gonna fake it, they would probably have faked into more than the shots they did

    in terms of the photo and the trooper being faked.. looks ok to me.

    only doubt i have is that.. if i was gonna fake something like that i would use part of the environment to cover up my skullduggery... like an overhanging branch with leaves. it's also just at "that distance" and quality that makes it hard to get in there.

    in saying that - i reckon it's real. be a lot of work for something that ain't even giving much away.

    This may be just a coincidence, and nothing to put much meaning into, but I read yesterday that the next Hasbro Black Series 6" figure to be released will be Han in a Stormtrooper uniform.

    It seems we've also got a first glimpse at the screenplay: "Run, Chewie!" I know it might be uninteresting for some but for me this short sentence is Star Wars all right! :)

    Makes commercial sense as it's cheaper to reuse the existing Stormtrooper mold with the only changes being a removable helmet and new Han and Luke heads. Hasbro likes lots of repaints and slight retools injected into a line as soon as possible.

    These photos really look legit, but I'm not sure about the stormtrooper. It looks too bright compared to the rest of the photo. The white looks just wrong. Of course I might be wrong. Still in all of the photos you can definitely see that there's no filming taking place. And suddenly they see a stormtrooper running around? It is fishy. I'm not saying the photos are fake, but the ST looks weird.

    Not a professional but I have photoshop experience. My crowning achievement was convincing a girl I was in the olympics with a photoshopped picture and I improved my hairline while I was at it haha.

    If they're shops then they are pretty well done. One thing that is bugging me is the bush, there is a part of it where it looks like there is a branch coming down but the stormtrooper is in front of the branch (zoomed in one on the left, I'm going off of Tid's reply to Echo). It overlaps to the point you can't blame it on the pixelation, if its legit then what is a branch probably has to be part of the set, I'd have to really look at the color differentiation to get a better guess but it looks green when compared to its surroundings when if it was part of the set it should be black or grey. Another thing to note, possibly in defense of authenticity is the black mass shifting from over the right should to over the left shoulder (or vice versa) so at the very least they were smart enough to use two separate models. Also the weight is shift to the right leg in left picture and left leg in right picture. The stark whiteness of the trooper doesn't bother as much as how distinct the black mass is on his shoulder even from far away. The trooper's armor would have to be as white as a sheet of paper but that isn't exactly outside of the realm of possibility.

    That concludes my analysis, remember kids, I am not a professional and my testimony will not hold up in court

    Ok, your eyes are better than mine... you are right, the zoom is not of the second pic, but of the third... I just posted them in order and went with the original commentary... try the leg shifting on these two

    I do think I see what you are saying about the branch, though... and the "mass" I think is a leaf... it looks like the leaf is foreground to the trooper, but the actual branch seems to disappear behind the right shoulder... of course, this could be a blur effect from the zoom, pixel analysis will tell
