I'm pretty sure it's Cumberbatch who is making the voiceover, the german version of the trailer is also narrated by the same voice actor who is doing Cumberbatch.

 

Voiceover is either Benedict Cumberbatch or Andy Serkis


Man, that trailer was phenomenal. It felt just as Star Wars as anything Lucas has ever done and less like anything else Abrams has ever done. I'm very pleased. I wanted to see our old heroes, but I understand the focus is on the new generation and the Big 3 are going to steal the show away from them anyway.

Stoked. Absolutely stoked. JJ gets it. He really gets it.

I think the voice over is Adam Driver doing a bad guy voice. I listened to a couple of interviews with him and it sounds like him to me. Also that was totally driver with the lightsaber.

One thing that I would have liked was whem he said the light would have been a shot of a blue or green lightsaber. Or at the end when we just heard it seeing the blue/green glow would have been cool. Loved it though I've watched it like 50 times

So there was a dude on the force.net who dropped the snow scene with the cross hilt sword months ago (before the photo leaked of the sith). That guy was legit but never returned. He also said that Kira is 100% a Solo but he could get one thing right and one thing wrong. I'm still trying to figure out how it all fits in with her being on the ground in Tatooine and the MF (han/chewie) in the sky. I'm glad the trailer didn't give too much away, if anything. It was the perfect tease.

 

Curious how everyone hated the cross saber at first, but love how it looks now.

 

I like how all the supposed insiders got the details of the trailer wrong. No Luke/Han/Leia.

 

I love it, having seen it now. It looks like some sort of unholy Sith garage kit, that is is barely holding together and needs venting on the hilt or something. Looks very powerful.

 

ALSO: Anyone else notice the probe droid sound on the boyega shot?

 

Did you guys catch the sound of the Imperial Probe Droid when Boyega looks around?

Hey all!

Been a long time lurker and first post here! I usually hang out over at TF.N, but with their boards apparently having crashed and burned, I figured this was the perfect time to introduce myself here.

Just saw the trailer and I have to say, the shots we saw were amazing! It was great to see our new characters and of course, the Falcon and the X-Wings skidding over the ocean were the money shots for me! Absolutely fantastic! If I only had one gripe, it would be that they left out Luke, Han and Leia (arguably the most anticipated thing about the new set of films), but I'm willing to overlook that in light of the footage that we were shown. Overall, I thought it was great and it certainly did its job in terms of getting me excited for the film!

 

Not a wonderful teaser, very thin on the ground and the visuals were, well, average, nothing spectacular. Some looked like video game cut-scenes and the Falcon looked very strange being put through so much twisting and turning which didn't look possible for a craft of its design - it was rendered as flimsy and lightweight as a TIE Fighter. For the teaser alone: 2 and a half out of 5.

I'm sure they could have put together something much better given the storyline. It was less a teaser and more a scrag-end. Hey-ho, it can only get better with next year's trailers and the finished movie I hope!

 

Fist off:
That is a near perfect teaser. I know almost nothing more, yet it has made me more excited for The Force Awakens than I have ever been.

The Voice(s):
At first listen it is easy to quickly say "Benedict Cumberbatch". But, listen closely again and you'll hear what sounds more so like Andy Serkis. And when he says "---And the Light", it almost sounds like a separate voice is responding to him say "The Dark Side". Early speculation is saying this is in fact, Frank Oz's voice responding as Yoda. I'm not quite ready to agree or disagree, but it's feasible, considering the strong rumors of Yoda briefly showing up to console the distraught Luke.

Our Lead Protagonists:
John Boyega is definitely a stormtrooper! Daisy Ridley is definitely accustomed to living on a desert planet. And Oscar Isaac is definitely an X-Wing pilot. Also, all three were shown back-to-back along with our new little droid friend, so I believe those are definitely our three new leads for this trilogy.

The Villain:
Strong speculation from day one has been that Adam Driver is the villain. You can't see his face, but he's definitely Adam Driver's height and build. And the way he busts out that broadswoard lightsaber at the end gave me chills. Simple, but badass.

 

Star Wars Episode VII News on Facebook got it right two days ago. And I never saw it posted anywhere else.
