Is it actually Mark Hamill doing the voice over at some point in the trailer? Regarding the lightsaber, it makes sense from a combat point of view, no more hands getting chopped off easily

 

In the shot with the soccerball droid the 4 engine craft from the concept art that is parked in the AT-AT belly.

 

Very, very satisfied with this.

Definitely had a classic Star Wars feel, with a new-school twist to it, in my opinion. Boyega popping into the frame, the way the Storm Troopers in the shuttle were shot, it just felt like a very new but familiar.

The droid looked awesome, the Sith looked/sounded awesome, the new X-Wings flying so low was awesome - ALL OF IT WAS GREAT!

Perfect teaser.

 

I like that they didn't show any of the old characters. Shows a lot of confidence coming from the filmmakers. Plus, I was more excited to see all the new faces. We'll see the old gang soon enough!

And yes that shot with the X-Wings looked amazing!!

 

I def wasn't crazy about the nodes as they look like they would get chopped off easily and not really serve much of a defense against another saber sliding toward the hilt but if he uses a strong style like someone would with a heavy or long sword it may work. Will have to see it in action I guess. His style would need to be direct, powerful and efficient. No dancing around. Also I think it's Driver. Has his stature and posture.

Considering how loud it was, I would be surprised if none heard it.

Sometimes finished product looks better than the paper/concept version.

 

Btw does anyone have news of that possible 60 Second teaser or the other 80-90 seconds trailer? There was some rumor a few days ago that there could be two teasers/trailers with different material down the road.

 

Some things have been confirmed, and I am forced to eat my hat on the Oscar Isaac rumors, he looks good in an X-Wing. Perhaps Han will have the Falcon to start the film.

The scene with Driver (we all can tell that's Driver with the lightsaber) seems to come from near the climax

 

Hi everyone, can anyone produce a still from the teaser where the troopers look like they're descending down upon a city. Are there any recognizable buildings? also, the first part of the narration sounds like Cumberbatch(with a pitch variant) and the second part is definitely someone else. Cheers

 

That was Sydow narrating, with the vocals tweaked. Sounds like Cumberbatch, though.

The narration is definitely channeling Cumberkhan.

 

I love that every third person that posts in this thread is positive who was doing the voice over, and none of y'all agree with one another.

 

I was watching it again with my sister, I am 95% sure that is Cumberbatch it has his lilt. My mother disagrees, she is probably the biggest Cumberbatch fan I know and she says it is too scratchy to be him.

 

do you know that? or is it an speculation?

 

Von Sydow was my first guess before everyone started saying Cumberbatch now I can't stop hearing it. There seems to be a second narrator though

A bit different in some respects than what I was expecting but most certainly awesome. I'm going to destroy my data plan watching it all day at work.

Voice-over doesn't sound like Benedict Cumberbatch to me. Close but the tone isn't quite right. My vote is that it's Serkis. The man is as remarkable a voice actor as he is a a mo-cap wizard.

Loved seeing the ol' Falcon dodging tie fighters like old times.
