The Book of Boba Fett First Trailer Debuts Along With New Poster

The trailer was meh, but it looks like we’ll get some cool visuals and action in this series.

I’m wondering what Boba’s arc in this series is gonna be. He seemed to be somewhat honorable and not really wanting to kill people as a child/young teenager in TCW but seemed to become colder and more brutal by the OT era. He seemed to somewhat mellow out in Mando Season Two, though he still fought pretty brutally.

“Speak freely” is such a badass line and I interpret it as Boba saying that he won’t feed you to a rancor or Sarlacc if he’s displeased like Jabba would. He’ll shoot or disintegrate you himself.

 

Looks pretty damn good to me and cool poster as well!

 

I like that the trailer didn't give us much in the storyline department. If I recall, the Mando S1 trailer didn't give us a whole lot either. Obviously, it gave a little more than this, bc Mando was a totally new character that required something in terms of explanation. But as for BOBF, I'm cool with some easter eggs, cool aliens and a couple cool lines of dialogue in the trailer. I'd rather go in not knowing specific plot points, etc.

 

The good:
I like seeing some of the more populated cities on Tatooine. Sure, the desert landscape is the iconic part, but the PT introduced a giant populated city that I've always wanted to return to.

Ming-Na Wen is always a win.

Politics and politicking, even underworld politicking, is always a win.

The meh:
I still don't care about Boba Fett, and the fact that we're getting a whole show about him doesn't win him any points. And regardless of what what direction they take the character, I doubt I'll still like him by the end of this. Still, stranger things have happened.

Overall, these past few weeks have been good for geeks, and they're only going to get better.

 

This trailer is basically a teaser and the 2nd/last trailer will likely be meatier

 

Negativity aside, there's plenty of cool stuff in the trailer and the visuals seem to be an improvement from The Mandalorian.

 

I just like the seedy gangster underworld as they call it. It would be cool to see the alliances and betrayal that trying to co-op all of these gangsters will bring. You know all of these criminal syndicates will act on behalf of their own best interests. I mean they're criminals. On another note the dang kiwi accent, gets me sometimes. I thought boba fett said corporation instead of cooperation

 

Where's this stuff about Mandalorian visuals coming from? Since when does that show have weak visuals or exactly how does this improve?

I love the visuals in The Mandalorian and this seems like that show to me except other characters are featured

 

I would say they're identical. They're produced by the same people using the same technology, and even recycled props and costumes. I'm sure they've improved some of their techniques, but not that much.

 

No sir I just saw the The Youtube notification as early as anyone & gave it a viewing, been releasing gifs from it ever since. I was right to choose it during the 9th Anniversary giveaway thread. This guy deserves his own show & now his ruling era has begun.

I think it is about time to remind everyone not to create their own misery, again. Don't try to hate a new SW thing. We (the community) did this with The Mandalorian; based on many reactions to early teases, that shwo was gonna be a joke that nobody would watch. In the end, Mando turned out pretty big, yeh? We did it again with The Bad Batch, especially with the stupid girl in the trailer that would just break SW. TBB, and Omega especially, turned out to be some of the warmest characters in all of Star Wars, well-loved by all, disparate camps of the fandom.

Don't hate by rote. We've seen nothing in the TBoBF trailer that varrant pre-judgement and bashing. So yeah, don't hate by rote. Get in the habit of excitement and love for new SW, and you'll improve the experience for not only the fandom as a whole, ('cause we don't need more hate), but yourself specifically. Instead of creating your own missery, how about creating joy? I think so

And finally, don't expect this (or any show or film) to align with your head-canon. Shows and films never can, 'cause your head-canon is YOURS (unless, of course, YOU happen to be a writer-director of a "Star Wars", but that ain't gonna happen, so...).

Nope, you're mistaken, sir. We are not. We, here, are none of those. I think you might be mistaking SWNN/Cantina for the comment sections on YouTube

I actually suspect that we're still on Tatooine, here. Perhaps it is a hamlet below Jabba's Palace/monastery that we've just never seen before? That, or I'm completely off.

 

fwiw, if past D+ shows are anything to go by, most of these scenes are from the first two or three episodes.

I don't think this show will necessarily be as Tatooione-centric as the trailer implies.

 

Yep, right observation, Jeddha does not exist any more since several years.

The Obiwan Show is also supposed to be Tatooine-centric. It would be a waste that the two shows would center on the same planet.

 

I saw that legendary DP Dean Cundey shared the poster for TBOBF. I did not know he was involved until now. Good news!

 

At this point, I hope both use it sparingly. Between games, novels, movies, comics, TV shows... Tatooine is just kinda tired for me now.
