If the Solos are letting their little boy hang out with a creep like Snoke, maybe they were bad parents. Maybe Kylo Ren has a point.

Well that is it exactly what the extras on the extra disc imply that Liea and han were too busy with their on agendas and not paying attention to Ben

I have a hunch that when Snoke revealed himself to the Skywalkers, he presented himself as a good guy. That's the only plausible explanation I can think of as to why Luke/Leia/Han would let Ben hang out with a dude that looks like evil Gollum.

And he didn't look as f***** up at that time, either, one would assume. That helped. :p

The latest MSW post suggests that they're still around at the time of Episode VIII.

I feel like he's looked like that for a long time lol. Looks like a pretty old dude. He's obviously been alive for a very long time, so how could he come out of the shadows like that and suddenly be trusted enough to spend time with Ben? His family must've thought they could've trusted him with Snoke in some way. Which is why I think Snoke initially was a figure seen as good/trustworthy, but was corrupting Ben in secret for some bigger agenda.

This is really interesting and cool.

Here's a thought, what if Rey and Kylo were actually on Bespin as very young children? Who says they could not have been to Bespin before Rey was abandoned?

I think it's also worth noting that Luke Skywalker saw a frieze in a Jedi Temple involving what appear to KOR in The Weapon Of A Jedi. For a while, I thought that was a red herring, but now, I'm pretty sure it's a tip-off that these guys have been around for a while.

Wow, spot on man. I haven't read that one, so it comes really handy for me (and the topic). That seems like a really plausible connection, IMO.

However, is there another connection as well with the Acolytes of the Beyond (from the Aftermath novel)? Are The Acolytes a new generation of the KOR? Their fanatics? Or is there no relation at all but the dark side admiration? That has always intrigued me as well.

I haven't read that book. However, I think that while there might be a connection or two, the AOTB are a group that is distinct from the KOR.

In any case, Pablo Hidalgo has suggested that not all of the KOR are Force-sensitive. So the KOR we see could just be followers of an old school of thought that hasn't really been practiced in ages, until the years preceding TFA.
