SPECULATION The final duel and Rey's forceful awakening

Rey's future has been set in motion.

 

I tend to agree that Luke is powerful and has grown in wisdom more that kicking butt but they are not unrelated (see Yoda). What I dislike is the speculation that "power" is being used as a measure of whether someone can be beaten. Most Jedi could take clone troopers but the combination of surprise, treachery, numbers and strategy took many down. My point is this isn't Dragon Ball Z were we can look at some sort of power reading meter and only the most powerful can achieve victory. Real life and good fantasy show that other factors can take people out. So while I agree if all factors are equal like a boxing match power might be the deciding factor but that is unlikely the case. Its far more likely to be chaos in the film where many factors might come to play.

Rey will face both Kylo and Snokes by herself and she will defeat both of them.

This has been my assumption for months as well. I felt even more certain after I read that she may have a backstory where she is already a skilled melee warrior. It'll make the story a bit less awkward when she has to battle an enemy(Kylo) who's presumably spent a great deal of time training in saber combat. Like Ridley Scott said about his displeasure with the theatrical cut of Kingdom of Heaven "One sword fighting lesson from his father and he's ready to defend Jerusalem". This will work much better.

2nd. I would argue that a Jedi Knight and a Medieval knight's motivations are parallel. Defend the weak, honor your masters, become a better fighter, defeat evil, resist evil temptations, learn about swallows, help Harrison Ford choose wisely....
