Regarding the saber, I was going to say the opposite.
I wouldn't be surprised if the crossblades were added to this pic (possible so it looked more like the Kylo image we know for the sake of the cover, or after they decided to have crossblades and he quickly altered it). This design is more likely to cut off his fingers as there is no actual guard to stop his hand from sliding into the blades. There is also still a piece of hilt between the crossblades and the main blade which could still be sliced through.

I figure Kylo either 1. made the hilt out of something that can stop a lightsaber blade (like Cortosis - canon, but I don't know if it still works with sabers - or an Electrostaff - which could explain the extra "lightning" effect seen on the blade in the teaser), 2. he is so skilled, or arrogant, in using it that he isn't worried about someone cutting it, 3. the blade extends through the guards and it would only require a replacement of the metal part after battle, or 4. the blades were a product of his lack of skill in creating a saber and are more like exhaust ports to deflect excess energy, though they can still act as a crossguard and extra weapons in battle. I prefer this last one as the saber looks like it was "hacked" due to problems with its function. It looks like he cut a section out of the guard and had to quickly add an external wire to fix a flaw. There are also heat discolorations on the crossguard emitters as if they weren't part of the original design and the blades are warping them.

 

I was at Wal-Mart the other day, and they had a fair number of Finn, Kylo, and Stormtrooper 6" figures on the shelf.

I checked out TRU and Target, and their shelves are empty.

I'm a bit confused. In the context of the discussion here, what does" WAKE UP AMERICA" mean?

 

Nothing, I heard it once or twice on Tumblr in joking about conspiracy theories. In hindsight, it didn't really work out here and I probably missed the point.

 

Ah, I've seen the same thing on another site dealing with conspiracy theories.

Now it makes sense!

 

I have a feeling none of the weakness's of the saber described in countless threads are going to seem relevant when we see Ren weild it in battle.I think he will fight simple with lethal brute force,after all he's only been chopping up soldiers with blasters yeh? Cos there's no Jedi to fight,except possibly the padawans.i liked how you described it as possible arrogance,maybe its pure confidence,the thing is a beast,designed to instill fear,and rightly so.I'm really looking forward to finding out the truth of this weapon...

Actually, the joke did make sense. Not everybody knows the reference though. "Wake up America!" is a typical phrase used both seriously and jokingly in regards to conspiracies and politics.

It could be arrogance, though the design really hints that he had to jury-rig it for some reason by connecting a new wire from the outside. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to have exposed wires. It's like he built it but it didn't work or was overheating, so he had to open it up and make some quick fixes. The outside wire even looks tack welded into place.

 

A memeber of the Jedi Council forun posted this. Interesting, though probably not accurate (Kylo as a Sith?!)

So the Sith is just a generalizing term for the bad guys.

That's interesting... though really isn't surprising.

That seems to be the case...
Even the Jedi seem to have a bit of a strange place in this, with R2-D2 and Clonetroopers being affiliated with Jedi.

 

So Rey is Jedi, nobody was expecting that!

It's interesting, that Finn is just rebels. It doesn't have to mean that he's not force sensitive (Leia is also marked as Rebel and she most certainly is force sensitive). Maybe that's indicate, that Rey had formal Jedi trening, and Finn did not.

Also I would not care about Kylo being "Sith" as naming is exclusively from OT, so all "evil" force sensitives are called Sith, and all good non sensitive guys are part of rebels, not resistance.

 

I don't think the game works like that, its about teaming up and connecting cards from what I have read. Its not like those old top trumps games if that makes sense. I think the symbols are that - just symbols to catogrize. Vader was a Sith but he's not first order ect...

When I first saw the title on MSWs site, I thought that someone had obtained the original, uncompressed voice recordings... then I found it was just the toys.

 

Hasbro didn't get the memo on casting ?
