Obi Wan sits on tree trunks and cracks leaves and twigs when he walks around on Dagobah.

The fact that the force ghosts have more power makes Kenobi's statement to Vader carry more weight. It's also logical with Yoda/Kenobi/Luke studying this for decades.

The "See you around kid" like is so great.

Yep great points in here, I was going to mention the Obi-Wan sitting on the log on Dagobah, but didn't remember/notice the twigs and branches snapping etc...

Also at the end of ROTJ with the trio of Force Ghosts, Obi-Wan has his hand on Yoda's back... so another "physical" interaction (albeit with another Force Ghost).

Posts about Qui-Gonn from the book "From a certain point of view" also add some great incite and credence to this.

Stuff with the Nightsisters magic in Rebels may be relevant here too, and yes Bendu destroying AT-AT's with lightning (which I thought was way over the top personally, perhaps it will all fit in once Episode 9 is done).

I really hope so because let's face it - while I like TLJ and I think it's actually a good story - I feel bad for Luke as a character and Mark as an actor who had to play it. That's why I hope he'll get much better role in all this as a force ghost. He'll get a Luke he deserve.

I thought they nailed Yoda's force ghost.

Thank god they went back to the puppet.

"Missed you I have, Skywalker" Such a great line.

Yeah that was as a brilliant line.

Reminded of “miss you I will” to Chewie at the end of RoTS

Let’s not forget that Yoda’s Force ghost was on Ahch-To when he achieved this feat: this is where the Jedi were founded, set up their first Temple, and is strong and pure with the Force in a way which is similar to Mortis and Dagobah.

If we think of planets such as these as amplifiers of the Force - perhaps they were once Force nexuses, such as the Wellspring of Life - then Luke’s and Yoda’s abilities could make much more sense, by being limited to a place such as this due to their power’s amplification.

I am not sure yet but its was a puppet and a little bit of CGI, I guess. But the final result is what it counts. Yoda was great to see!

Allowing Jedi Force Ghosts to be able to interact physically with the living world creates problems and plot holes. It's now becoming as outrageous as Lord of the Rings was with using dead ghosts to fight and defeat a living army. If Yoda, Obi Wan, and Anakin can just show up whenever they want, then there should be no reason the "bad guys" would ever be in control. Why couldn't those 3 show up in the throne room and help Rey out? I'm glad it didn't happen or else it would have been as bad as the Eagles showing up only when it was convenient to the LOTR plot to save the heroes from danger.

I really hope the Yoda scene was just Lukes imagination and it didn't really happen but I doubt that's the case.

I for one hated the puppet and always have. Would have been much happier with CGI Yoda.

In the Return of the jedi Obi Wan tells Luke a story of him and Luke's father...meanwhile he is talking he is interacting with leaves and sits on fallen tree at swamps of Dagobah.

The force ghost of Yoda had more brightness and was glowing white in TLJ. In OT films Force Ghost had a light blue tinge. When I saw Yoda on screen I was hyper nostalgic and I was like common you green guy where have you been all these years.

More importantly Yoda and Luke on Aach-Too implies that a "A master will always remain to be a student to his or her master" and our beloved green master gives a final lesson to Luke before disappearing.

An out off topic newbie question btw, can any one tell me how to rate other users posts ?

The first shot of Yoda was very... weird looking. I think it was the lighting, but the shade of green was just wrong.

It looked a lot better towards the end though. I'm glad they used the puppet.

And as for him being able to physically interact with people (Luke) and things (the tree)... it's the Force. Why do we keep trying to set restrictions on something cosmic and unknowable?

I'm confused as to why people are glad they used the puppet. It is painfully obvious it's a puppet too, there's no sense of realism. The puppet doesn't have any facial expressions. It's 2017, yet this scene looked like it was still 1980.

CGI Yoda of the prequels was one the worst things done to a character in SW. Is not the hilarious and curious wierd frog from the OT. They ruined the magic. The real Yoda is back in TLJ.

This is the line of thinking I had, the force ghost are training per say and learning just what they can do with this "power". It could open the door to all kinds of new possibilities in future movies, almost a undefeatable force power, unless there is a way to destroy a force ghost. There may be certain rules or things these force ghost are capable of doing and to who. This is another hmmm moment in Star Wars or should I say the new Star Wars.

I think the fact that Yoda can do these things just adds weight to what Obi Wan say to Vader in ANH.

“IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN, I SHALL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE.”
