I think they're (again) gloves she use for driving.

To me, the shelf with the books inside the tree is a vision: the image doesn't look "real" as the next one with the hand and the burned book.
In addition, there's that RA(E)Y of LIGHT that spreads out the books. It all looks symbolic.

So I bet, she sees that and she goes on a quest: the actual book she finds, it is inside the ruins of the Temple that Kylo burned when betrayd Luke and murdered the other students.

I must add I can totally see her, driving again a speeder to reach the burned temple... much like Anakin does in EP. II searching for Shmi.

I like the idea that Kylo is such a loose cannon that he'll actually rebel against Snoke - not to defect to the light side, but to pursue a reckless vendetta against Luke. It would mirror Luke's departure from Dagobah against Yoda's urgings: just as Luke's act was a rebellion against Yoda for the sake of a noble end, so Kylo's departure would be a rebellion against Snoke for the sake of an evil end...

show me the bodies and then we can talk about murdering Luke's students ~ hahahaha

but yeah, a quest for Rey could be pretty cool. Luke may test her or put her off and she either goes it alone (as they always do in these things before they gain sufficient wisdom), or she is deliberate sent (which is the more traditional route).

i can see him rebelling against Snoke ultimately, but not for the sake of evil. nothing he's done yet has been purely for the sake of evil (killing Han skirts the line and could be a break point). if Ren rebels against Snoke it will be because Snoke is impeding what he believes is his destiny--which, if we're to believe the novelization. is bigger than himself.

I think some people are getting a bit too caught up by the idea of the word grey, and struggling with the notion of balance involving dark as well as light.
Try not to think of it as a straight line, with light on one end and dark on the other, and someone being literally bang in the middle.
As Luke specifically says in the trailer, the Force is "so much bigger", and as we've seen on The Clone Wars, it's a lot more complex.
The Nightsisters of Dathomir are an entire society based around a specific type of Force usage (primarily dark side). Are they evil? I personally wouldn't say so.
Was the Son of Mortis evil? Again, I don't think so myself, I think he simply was what he was, acting in his nature, and he genuinely did seem to care about his father and sister.
For myself personally, I think of like a sphere, rather than a straight line, imagine a giant sphere with yourself at the centre of it. From the centre you're able to see every direction of the sphere in its entirety. It's not about using the light and the dark, it's about an understanding of the complete nature of the Force, seeing the full sphere rather than a binary system.
That's how I look at it anyway.

I personally think Rey and Kylo will unite against Snoke, with her representing the light and he the dark, and when Snoke is defeated they maintain balance together.

We had an Easter block party last night, and while not a consensus, most of the guys I talked with were fairly "meh" about the trailer. A few hardcore nerds, mostly software engineer types with small kids. I was surprised, because I really liked what I saw, and LOVED what I heard. If it turns out WIlliams composed Rey's theme to blend with Binary Sunset, aka The Force Theme, if that was in fact his "long game"... Mind. Blown.

Really he stabbed Lor beause the old man talked back, he slaughtered Luke's other students, he ordered the massacre of a whole village, and while the Death Star III was about to blast his own mother to kingdom come....He was chasing two kids through the woods like a slasher villain.

Now I get it some people want Kylo redeemed but lets not whitewash his crimes here. Also what type of defense is purely for the sake of evil. You dont have to be the Joker to be evil. And by your defense Palpatine wasnt even evil cause he did it for and I quoute "Unlimited Power" not for the Lulz.

As for the bouncing vehicle over the slat flats...yeah I second the no more wacky hijinks for Finn. Although it will bolster my argument so....

I think the really frustrating/weird part of the TLJ trailer is that we get next to nothing for Finn. He's in a bio pod. That's it. The only speculation people have offered based on the trailer is that he is being moved in the pod, and that he was perhaps at the installation that was shown being attacked also in the trailer. There are apparently some lights that seem to be reflecting on the surface of his pod and that's how they came to this conclusion. Of course he could just be being transported down a hallway too. Either way... so what? Like I don't see how this factors into the movie at all or how it adds value to the trailer. They could've used that 2 seconds to show anything else. Boyega himself says that he and KMT go on a mission. Does showing even a quick glimpse of that give something away? I find it hard to believe that it would.

Having Finn in the pod is meant to make you think "Is he alright? Will he be able to do his thing again?". Its all deliberate and made that way to make you anticipate the finished film and other teasers and trailers.

I keep seeing folks talking about a redemption arc for Kylo, I don't think you'll be getting one. Even when this Trilogy is over, I don't think evil will be vanquished in the galaxy, so either Snoke or Kylo will remain. I'd put my money on Kylo surviving the Trilogy, and is the obvious choice for the foil for Rey going forward.

    Also
An in interview with KMT John Boyega indicates that he and Kelly's character go on a mission. We know he is alright and is functional enough to go on a mission based on that, so for me that portion of the trailer seems to add nothing. As a fan, no matter what I'm going to see the movie, but I see a clear pathway forward to correct some of the problems with the other characters in TFA (both Kylo and Rey will be training, we'll expect any subpar performances not typically seen with experienced light side and dark side users to be ameliorated by that training), not seeing one for Finn...

    ...unless...

... this bio hexapod is supposed to change him in some unexpected way. But he was already supposed to be a pretty solid soldier before so it can't now suddenly make him a good shot, he already was supposed to be.

"biohexapod" < is this Star Wars or some awful technobabble which escaped from an episode of Star Trek: Voyager?

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but once I got the teaser up on my big screen over the weekend, it was very plain and obvious that at the end when Luke is standing in the entrance to the cave/Force tree he is actually speaking the last line about the end of the Jedi. While it is dark, I could definitely make out his mouth moving and matching the words "the Jedi must end."

So for what it is worth, I don't think this was just clever teaser editing of dialogue that will never be seen or spoken, as has been done in the past...

I think the actual term that Boyega used was BIO-HEXACRYPT maybe?

I think it will be included too, seems central to the story

Let's be honest, there's nothing that could happen short of Finn becoming the Jedi over Rey that you won't claim as "bolstering" your ridiculous argument that KK is racist.

Been away for Easter holiday, so today I was finally able to watch the teaser on big screen, and the more I watch it, the more I gotta feeling that we are in for something special this December.
To anyone who said that trailer was lame, boring or not exciting - difference between TFA and TLJ trailer is enormous. TFA was first SW movie in a decade so they really needed to bring out all the guns and exciting scenes in the Celebration teaser to make up for huge hype and demand.
TLJ teaser doesn't suffer from those things, so they are obviously holding back "the heavy and good stuff" and I'm glad they do it that way. If you don't like it, go see any other Marvel superhero teaser which shows all the action and all the plot points. ;)

Excited as hell to see Kylo Ren story unfolding, to see uncharted and remote planets (Crait), to see new ships and to see political situation 30 years after ROTJ ending.

Don't forget this: In the Bloodline novel, Rian Johnson penned the "napkin incident". It's a scene where somebody warns Leia on a napkin to run, and moments after that, a bomb goes off on a banquet on Coruscant. Also, one of the largest plot points from the book is that crime cartels are buying large amounts of weapons and transfering money in the unknown direction (rise of the First Order).
Rian wouldn't made a contribution to a Bloodline novel if it isn't somehow connected to TLJ story.
    Exciting indeed. :D
