    Ouch...that's a good one.

I agree that the back story might have been a more interesting alternative, for the rest we agree to disagree.

IMHO, there was a strong feeling of loss and betrayal. The Twi'Lek Jedi's death didn't look silly but realistic to me. We have come to have these expectations that a fight to the death must be noble and look accordingly, but as an aficionado of Stanley Kubrick and his early films I'd say reality is rather different (and clumsy).

I agree that it would have been better to have learned more about the individual Jedi characters to arouse more sympathy for their fate, but already the performance of the actor who played Ki-Adi Mundi set the tone so well that it resonated with the "unknown" characters, too.

I will never forget the look in his face seconds before his death asking "why and how? I do not understand!" To die without knowing the reasons is quite a tragedy, IMHO.

Well, of the Jedi we saw betrayed, I agree that Ki-Adi-Mundi's was the best, the one with some weight behind it; the scene was also lit nicely. It didn't help the twilek jedi's scene that it was set in a cartoon mushroom land (IMO).

That being said I find it strange that these mighty Jedi masters can be defeated by three clones.

No argument from me that this was probably the biggest blown opportunity in the entire PT. Anakin's fall to the dark side was THE point of the whole thing.

Lucas had the opportunity to create a scene every bit as iconic as "I am your father" or "I love you. I know." and he let it slip through his fingers, though he sort of redeemed himself, or rather was redeemed by Ewan's performance of the "You were my brother..." scene.

I didn't realize I said the 'turn scene' was the turning point for me. No pun intended!
