I think she will be somebody important but not Rey's mom. It would be cool if she was a villain though.

 

Impossible that she's Luke's wife and Rey's mother. Luke has blue eyes, Laura too and Daisy has brown eyes. Genetically impossible.

It looks like the midichlorians could override normal genetics in that galaxy far far away, since characters who were supposed to be twins were played by Mark and Carrie (who don't look like twins at all).

 

Luke and Leia are fraternal (dizygotic- twins born from two different fertilized eggs) twins and not identical (monozygotic- twins from one fertilized egg) twins. Fraternal twins don't look alike. Naturally as indicated by the name identical twins do.

 

Don't forget that twin blood also means the same midi. counts for the both of them but Laura's character could add to that potential count to help with the force potential in their kid potentially.

 

Maybe a government type.

 

Somehow I just don't see someone of her caliber being " behind the desk " so to speak as a government type ...

Yup. In the old canon she was replaced by Kylantha.

 

It's a good bit of casting on many levels, one of which being that she's the daughter of Bruce Dern who starred in 'Silent Running' which featured the "drones", which are pretty much Artoo's grandparents.

 

I have a feeling Laura Dern will playing Rey's mom, hold on, well, 'Step-mom' to be more precise, as her real mom, Shara Bey is dead.

furthermore, Kes Dameron, (who's probably played by Benicio del Toro) and met Laura Dern's character after Shara, is her father.. also meaning Rey is .. Poe Dameron's sister.

The Force Tree, the piloting skills, etc...

Luke knew Shara Bey.. therefore as written at the end of 'The Force awakens' official script he may also know who Rey is.

Although, does the timeline of when Rey was dropped off on Jakku coincide with Shara bey's death..6 years or something?..

As for Kes Dameron? that's a mystery all on it's own...where is he now?

According to the rumor, Laura's character is the captain of a ship that Poe and his fellow Resistance fighters have seized control from.

 

I did not see this coming. Mind=blown. I don't think it's true, but it's very compelling and not outside the realm of possibility.

 

i'm sure that leia will check out, and it will probably be what causes kylo turn turn on snoke in the end. but, that means they have to replace leia with someone for the celebration scene at the end; a "republic figurehead". dern sure would make a fine candidate for that coveted position.

Interesting rumour. I quite like the sound of Dern being a military commander for a neutral party or the New Republic, the latter being much more preferable. What was Latino Review's hit rate for TFA rumours?
