Thanks everyone........ The Cantina and SWNN.com for sharing the poster and trailer release with me. My brother passed away a few weeks and he was a hard core SW fan. He would be so excited to share this special time with you all. So he's here in spirit with me and all u great people.

 

I think people were mentioning photoshop as a bad thing because it has been tradition that Drew Struzan paints all of the posters for Star Wars and he did not do this one. He is old and considers himself retired unfortunately. So it isn't that people don't like photoshop in general. They just are missing the traditional Struzan look.

As subtle as a Death Star..

 

SW has a long history of making multiple posters for the movies. This has not been in practice probably since the late 80's, but maybe we'll see a "B" poster.

 

Honestly, I think the poster is absolutely beautiful.

I need it on my wall.

I'm not sure if this was already posted, but I think that the poster tells a lot about the story. Han and Leia are together and probably working together. Surrounding them are Poe, C3PO, R2D2, and Chewbacca who are probably working with them, too. Kylo is wielding his weapon and being a "baddie." Rey and Finn are doing their "things" with their lightsabers and being on "the light side." The stormtroopers are all placed together.

 

My first instinct when I first saw the poster.. Rey and Kylo are extremely powerful in the force, and Rey is protecting the light side from his destruction.

 

Mmmm first order star destroyers are over on the 'good guy' side. The sides are mixed, deliberately I think.

 

Something that stands out to me is the fact that both Rey and Kylo are facing in the same direction, with their weapons drawn in the same manner; as if they are on the same side. Finn, while his head is facing the same way, his eyes are looking in the opposite direction...I think that might mean something.

 

I noticed at the bottom it says "in Imax 3D", I would have liked to see it on the largest imax screen in the states in 2D but alas not surprisingly I doubt it will happen.

So I'll see it in 2D and then on a ~ 80 foot tall imax screen in 3D.

 

Hamill looks better than in the last years and looks great.
I would say that Ford is in a good shape, but he looks his age and older than Hamill in my opinion.

 

This poster looks absolutely stunning

Rey looks awesome, and Finn looks so cool. I wish Poe were there as well, but the image is getting me so excited for the film. This is the first Star Wars film I'm about to see in theaters where I'm really excited (and not just dragged there by my family members)

Can't wait.

 

Oh, I agree, I was just talking about that manip there. I think Hamill looks fantastic. I think Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford look great too. Really, everyone looks stellar. It's so good to see them all looking great.
